I can't see the Wizards giving up on Caron Butler yet, but they might try to offload Antawn Jamison, who has a very similar contract. (I got the idea from reading Bill Simmons's latest, where he said he called up his buddy the Wizards fan and said "would you trade Jamison and Songalia for" and the friend said "YES! GIVE ME CAP ROOM!" before he could finish the sentence.) Anyone interested? A trade of Raef and Outlaw for Jamison and Etan Thomas works... What I like about Jamison: he can score from all over the floor, but he's not a ball hog. (When he was a Tarheel I seem to remember some stat about how he held the ball for hardly any amount of time but was incredibly efficient.) He's also a very good rebounder. He's an OFFICIAL undersized scoring PF - something Outlaw is only by default.
He's 32. He is older than Paul Pierce and Vince Carter... for that reason his contract is much worse than Butler's, whom I don't think the Wizards will give up cheap. If Jamison was 3 years younger, I'd do this deal absolutely. If his contract was shorter (like 2 years left), it wouldn't be the worst deal, but even then, he doesn't really fit our window, and I think there is a good chance he will be over the hill in 2 years.
