I'd rather package our pick in a trade, than draft another rookie. If I had to pick a player in our range I would take, Patrick Mills from St. Mary's. He's a really quick PG who played really well against the USA team. He was on the Australia national team.
It's a no brainer and it's not Tyler. Also, Thabeet from UCONN would be an interesting backup for Greg.
Yeah, but we have a lot of pieces to package and move up, if needed. Freeland is breaking out as one of the best bigs in the ACB at only 21 years of age. Koponen has a lot of potential. Bayless could even be packaged.
I think he will be a very good NBA player. He has good court vision and is one of the best pure shooters to come out of College in a long time. The guy is also a perfect fit next to Roy at the point.
No, its just funny how you guys think that just by having Greg Oden in his 1st year, you guys are going to be a top 4 team. No way you guys win the division, and if you do you won't have a better record than Nuggets/Rockets/Hornets.
You do not need to be a top-4 team to be out of the lottery. You need to make the playoffs - and Portland has an excellent chance of doing it. I agree that Curry will make an excellent NBA player and would probably fit well next to Roy - I just doubt we have what it takes to get him - but who knows... KP has managed miracles before - maybe he will again.
It is unbelievable how butthurt you blazer fans get; we're talking colonoscopy levels. I'm also unsure why you would draft Curry when you just drafted Bayless.
Curry, as much fun as he is to watch at the college level, is Adam Morrison part 2. He will be a nice spot up shooter - if his D is good enough where teams will play him. Or he could develop in to a passing PG. But he will never be able to get shots off against any solid NBA defender. He just doesn't have that kind of explosion. He would never be able to score on a N. Batum. (Or he could be Brandon Roy... strong, ability to get the shot he wants, etc... but I foresee Morrison part deuce.)
