http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2008/11/its_shaq_vs_odom_er_oden.html He calls Oden "Odom." Ouch. He just killed two birds with one stone. Talk crap about two players in one phrase. Two for one deal. Fat Daddy O'Neal at it again!
He isn't talking trash at all. He said it would take awhile for them to get to the dominant level--and he is right.
I do agree with Shaq here, they're both at least a couple years away from dominance. Offensively, I think Bynum is a lot closer than Oden is. He's got more polished low post moves and working with Kareem helps him a lot. Beyond that, he's got a pretty damn good mid range jumper. Oden, on the other hand, is lacking in offensive ability at this point. Most of his points come off dunks which he gets because of strength and athleticism. He doesn't have a remotely good jumper and his post moves are lacking at this point. Defensively though, Oden is amazing. He's got great instincts and really uses his athletic ability to his advantage.
Oden i think will have kind of big ben stats, you when ben was prime, but a different effect on the game. i think he'll probably score a little bit more than ben has, draw a few more doubles, few assists more, but really not too dissimilar. different player altogether, but stat wise he'll always be kind of 12ppg, 13rpg, 3bpg, 2apg. But, you know its been one month of play or whatever, cant really tell yet, but thats the kind of potential he's projected, anyway i think he could eventually average some more points maybe 15 to 18 ppg, but still, offensively he is a little one dimensional, you know, relying on his strength alone.
