I like his crossovers and ability to dissect the defense. But he likes to shoot a lot from the outside. That's good as long as it's going in.

He's like a shorter Kevin Durant.

Here's an interview from a while back, he's seems well-spoken and thoughtful:

I don't think Crawford really makes teams better, but we'll see. He's got skills, but I don't think it means anything unless you put more effort on defense and make efficient positive contributions to the team. If our perimeter team is shooting in the low 40's at high volume and playing crap defense while not putting much effort on the glass, then I believe this season is already over. This season would be practically ruined because we didn't develop or involve our bigs in higher % shots and we didn't give our selves a chance to put more shots on goals or to stop scoring runs against us. When we go small, we just trade baskets because our defense is not that good. If we play bigger, we're a lot better defensively and we rebound.

If Don Nelson doesn't want to vary his game with the versatility that he has on his roster, then I just refuse to watch. It's frustrating watching unstructured ball with guards launching ill advised shots while ignoring the guys underneath the hoop who a higher % chance of getting something good and watching no defense or interior toughness/presence.

He has the ability to explode and score like crazy. It'll be interesting to see how he and Jack each play the point and how this trade will effect Morrow's minutes.

I don't really know what to expect with Crawford coming in but I can see the potential for him to explode under Nellie. Look at how Jack has become a near all-star level player under Nellie. Crawford has even more scoring explosiveness, even better handles, even better vision, even more athleticism. Hes inefficient though and a crappy defender. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

As for Nellie, I'd just say try to put more faith in him. I agree that defense, low post game, is important but look at how many coaches we've had who tried to do that who failed miserably. We haven't won jack doing that because we just don't have the players to win that way. Nellieball may be inefficient, non-traditional, frustrating, uncontrolled, etc. but its gotten us a hell of a lot farther than Monty-ball, Muss-ball, Winters-ball, Cowens-ball, etc.

The only argument to that is Nellie now has some pieces to be an actual threat in the "traditional" style of basketball. The offense should run through Brandon Wright and Andris Biedrins more often.

I think what we can ask Nellie to do is balance out the offense a little more.

Or you could argue that the warriors are long, quick and athletic. Much more suited for deflections, blocked shots, and frenetic transition basketball.
