Well, he got benched today for whatever reason. Yes he was playing like crap, but it's not his fault the offensive line isn't blocking, Westbrook is injured, and he has nobody to throw the ball to. Anyways, I'm pretty sure this may be his last season as an Eagle. Although I do like him, it's probably time to blow the entire team up and move on. Assuming he gets put on the trading block, what do you guys think his value will be? I'm thinking at least a 2nd round pick? Maybe?
Assuming where he ends up, if McNabb is surrounded with good receivers, he'll do great things. Just look at the 2004 season when we made the Superbowl. He still has game, and he can still be a very productive quarterback. Anyways, my guess is if the Eagles decide to trade him, we'd probably land a 3rd rounder. I think the Bears could be one team interested in McNabb, don't know how it's going to play out though. Keep in mind that a couple of years ago, we traded away AJ Feeley to the Dolphins for a 2nd round pick. lol. Anything is possible
I don't think the Bears are in the market for a QB anymore. Orton has played really well this year and I wouldn't be surprised if he's their starter for a while.
How is McNabb going to be any better in Chicago? They have zero receivers on that team, and no Brian Westbrook. McNabb would be miserable with the Bears.
I never said he was going to do any better. I just said the Bears could be a team interested in him. During the summer, there were talks about the Bears trying to acquire McNabb, but the Eagles wouldn't settle for anything less than first round picks, so obviously nothing happened. I wouldn't be too surprised if the Bears and the Eagles started talking again this summer, although if Orton is succeeding as their starting QB, obviously the interest will probably go down. Another team that can come into play is Minnesota. They are a pretty talented team, but they lack a good starting quarterback. Tavaris Jackson doesn't seem like a starting quarterback, and Gus Frerotte obviously isn't a long term option. I expect the Vikings to be in the running as well. Not to mention their head coach, Josh Childress (assuming he doesn't get fired), used to be the Eagle's offensive coordinator, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind having Donovan on his squad.
Josh Childress plays basketball overseas...Brad Childress coaches the Vikings. Just thought I'd help with that error. And I don't see him doing too much in Minny anyways. Their WRs aren't that good, though with AP, they don't need them.
Maybe the 49ers? I don't think Shaun Hill or JT O'Sullivan are really viable options there, but I could be wrong. Hill played a solid game today, but I'm still not really sold on him, especially considering that it took O'Sullivan playing like hot, flaming garbage for him to get a shot. What about Tampa? Jeff Garcia can't play for forever, and the offenses are somewhat similar, so the learning curve wouldn't be TOO huge. Other than the aforementioned Vikes...that's about all I can think of.
I see Minnesota offering the most for McNabb. If they were willing to offer two 1st Rounders for Brady Quinn....there's no doubt they would at least give a up a 3rd rounder for McNabb

I still don't get why Philly wants to trade McNabb. The guy is having a great year. His lack of touchdowns is a result of the Eagles not having a big play receiver. Get him a big play receiver, trade a pos first round draft pick for a big play receiver, and the Eagles will be really good. It's pretty simple. Just look at Dallas/New England...hell look at Philly that year they went to the super bowl. But people are idiots in football, and over value their draft picks.
Depends on the mindset of the team. If its one with a win-now mindset, they'll be willing to give up 2nd maybe even 1st rounders. Stop reacting to a couple shaky weeks, and you'll realize that McNabb is still one of the best QB's in the league. A team with a bigger window will probably play hardball with the Eagles, but I think they'll be easily outbid. There are a lot of teams in the league that recognize how difficult it is to find a QB of his calibre. The Jets' success with the Favre trade kind of reinforced that. 2-3 years of a really good QB is a helluva lot better than continuing to pray that you can find a competent one in the draft.
