Technically it is worse but I don't think it's anything too serious.

hopefully he can come back in time for the blazers/lakers playoff series! and be rusty.

this will test my one question about bynum. will he milk this injury and be hesitant to play through any type of pain? now that he has his contract, will he take it easy for the next 4 years?

I guess if you're going to have an injury it is better to have one early in the season than late during a playoff push. The Lakers were fine when he went out last season, they'll be fine while he is out this season. Just think of it as a speed bump in the road. I'm sure he'll be fine.

This is not too bad, but he will probably miss some time.

Lakers watching Bynum's foot injury, but he should play
    Los Angeles Times

Lakers center Andrew Bynum, photographed last week against Denver, suffered a right foot injury in Tuesday's win over New Jersey, but is expected to play tonight against the Dallas Mavericks. Andrew Bynum, recovering from a small bone chip, is at practice and says he's OK. Coach Phil Jackson is confident but cautious. By Broderick Turner
1:09 PM PST, November 28, 2008 Lakers center Andrew Bynum was at the team's shoot-around this morning and said he felt OK. He is expected to play tonight against the Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center.

Bynum suffered a right foot injury in Tuesday's win over New Jersey and tests showed that a small bone spur had chipped off the foot, causing pain and inflammation.
Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said today, "We are confident he is going to play but it is still going to be a game-time decision." Bynum was hurt in the first quarter of Tuesday's game when he collided with the Nets' Vince Carter, Jackson said.

Bynum played 27 minutes in that game and had 15 points and six rebounds while battling against New Jersey's 7-foot rookie center Brook Lopez. Bynum, who had five fouls, played into the fourth quarter and finally came out as the Lakers built a big lead.

His condition worsened the next day.

"There are concerns," Jackson said about Bynum. "If he can play, then he'll be OK. If there are problems, we'll have to monitor his actions."

Turner is a Times staff writer.

I'm surprised he's going to play on it so soon. A bone spur is super irritating.

Yeah, I don't get this one. Unless they hope it dissolves or works its way into a safe spot, it seems like something that needs to be cleaned up.

Well, it certainly didn't seem to bother him. Maybe it's like Kobe's pinkie...

I don't know. I don't mind when a very good player gets a minor injury and has to miss the rest of the game. Whether it be twisted ankle or concussion. As long as they're ok, but don't beat us then that's cool.
