    Wow what a game...

My cousin was over and he was watching the game with me. The first half was extremely frustrating to watch, but I kept telling him, this is the freaking MAVS. We OWN this team. I made a guarensheed that we would come back and win this. What do you know? Whoop fucking doo we do just that!

A couple of comments on the game:

    1) Kobe is awesome
    2) Ariza is terrific
    3) Dallas was hitting everything they threw up in the first half, defense wasn't THAT big of a problem. In the second half though, we really tightened up and as a result, they came back down to earth. I KNEW they weren't going to be this hot all game long. They were hitting everything. As Fat Daddy O'Neal once said, what goes hot must go cold (or something like that).
    4) Oh yeah, we OWN Dallas.

now, i've been extremely busy this year and this has only been the 4th game i've watched all year =[[[[, so can someone tell me what's up with kobe? he did amazing, but he looked so slow and old out there? could it be that the fact that he's had no rest at all since last season or is age really catching up?

I didn't get to see the game, but was tracking it on my phone. Glad to see we made a comeback, because last I had known we were down 9 in the 3rd.

His jumper was off at the start but he took over the match in the second half and was driving to the hoop well. I saw pretty much the entire game I just had to do some other stuff yesterday.

    I think its two things:

    1. Yes, he is getting old....If I was to guess he might have more NBA games than any other 30 year old ever. He is in the midst of changing his game to accommodate this.

    2. This team is way too deep for him to try the spectacular stuff that we have all grown accustomed to. He doesnt need to do amazing things as often so he probably isnt in the flow as much as he used to be when asked to do those things. There is no need for crazy dunks when you have two 7 footers under the rim.

...The only thing Im concerned about is his flat shot but knowing Kobe he will correct that sooner than later.

The Mavs had a 12 point lead at one point, then Ariza, Farmar, Odom, Pau made some tough shots. The amount of good looks from the arc that we gave the Mavs was a bit troubling though.

Man Ariza...what was up with those crazy shots in the lane. He did his best Kobe impersonation on those. Impressive.

...of course he did that after missing a open point blank layup

Kobe is Kobe. He'll come around after the all-star break. This was actually one of his better games this season. He took it to the hoop instead of settling for alot of J's.

Ariza is a fuckin' steal. I can't believe we got him for Cookie. haha.. His presence on the floor can shift the game.

It's not off... But I noticed that in first half Kobe doesn't put too much on scoring maybe he is saving it in clutch time... :ghoti:
