IMO, Barkley has a point. Lebron's comment surprised me also.

Nice, intelligent response by Lebron. Barkley has a point. I don't see Wade or Bosh or others getting the same attention.

I agree with Barkley, Charles should say right back at ya young fella, your stupid for feeling your bigger than the game. I think Lebron is a terrific player but his priorities aren't right. If he wins championships his dream of being a "global icon" will come true since the media loves him and will flock to him where ever he is. His response to Barkley is exactly why I've always disliked Lebron. I've always felt that he's very disingenuous and is only concerned about his image. ARod is the same way, these guys only say and do what they feel will help their image. Meanwhile these guys will make strange comments like "I'm the best looking" (Arod) or "I want to transcend the game" (Lebron). That type of arrogance is pretty disgusting to me. I love sports and entertainment but at the end of the day whatever Lebron and ARod do through sports is not impacting the world in a profound way (in my opinion) no matter how important they feel they are.

Lebron has had this arrogance and this plan of being bigger than Jordan for as long as I can remember, he was saying things like this in highschool. The guy just comes off as an egotistical ass who thinks too much of himself. He should step back and realize that it's only basketball and he'll never be able to impact lives or countries like a CEO, or a politician and his goal of being one of the wealthiest people in the world is in my opinion ridiculous.

you know this reminds me of Jason Kidd when he was in the final year of his contract. Its like everybody especially the media want and expect him to make a commitiment before his contract expires. Well that would be a bad business decision for LBJ. I haven't heard him say he would like to go anywhere else, and he has said many times he's a cav now. He doesn't have to show his hand to anybody on what business decision he makes. He has the right to do what is best for him and his business LBJ, inc.

In my opinion LeBron is a moron. I agree 100% with Barkley in this one and I have even talked about it with my boss at work who is a big sports fan and we came across this topic. LeBron is showing no respect for the city of Cleveland by doing such thing. Let's put it on our perspective, imagine if Vince when he was a free agent a couple of years ago would of have started saying "I can't wait to look at my options, or the Lakers want me, I'll look into it." I mean, it just doesn't look right and even less for LeBron whose team is playing real good basketball.

And to finish off, his response towards Barkley one of the best to ever play this game was completely disrespectful. What can you expect though, this kid has been handed EVERYTHING ever since he was what... 15? 16? 18?...

LeBron is a great, great, great player, but he has shown he has no respect for his team and fans.

    Word!

Got to agree with Charles here too. James a great basketball player, definitely one of the best and arguably the best although I don't think he is, but it's his actions that make me dislike the guy, and the fact that sometimes he only seems to care about his stats. I feel so bad for Cleveland fans, some of the things he does and says is just a slap to their faces. It's one of the biggest reason I'm not one of the many dieing for him to be a Net I'm more of a fan of Wade and Bosh, would love to have one of them here.

If Lebron wants to be greater than MJ, he should come to Chicago and win us 7 championships, dammit.

LeBron Jame is so arrogant, because everyone call him King, and the media, the NBA, Stern, and everyone think he is God, so he could be such arrogant.

Stop hyping him, and let refs whistle on him every game, then he will know how bad he is.

ALthough it's unlikely because he is the only one hope to help developing the market of NBA.

I liked what Bosh said about it:
The dude has every right to keeps his card close to his chest and think about his own interests when it comes to his impending free agency. But his comments and overall approach to the issue give off the impression that he enjoys it way too much. He comes off looking like a self-absorbed attention whore. And as a commentator, Barkley rightly called him out on it. This 2010 speculation annoys the hell out of most NBA fans, and Lebron's antics are just making it that much more of a circus.

It's amazing that Wade is having an amazing season, but isn't getting too much press anymore.

I'm not a big Lebron fan, but if the Bulls only end up having enough money for one of the 2010 free agents, if Lebron agrees to sign in Chicago, you have to say to hell with the others. Lebron is just on another planet basketbally.

Although, I think I would get the most enjoyment out of Wade. I was a big fan of his when he was at Marquette, and was pissed as hell when the Heat drafed him, instead of Hinrich, who they were said by the experts to be picking.

Amare Stoudemire (or Yao Ming and Chris Bosh) would be great to have as well, as the Bulls would finally have a big man.

It'd be great if a team like New York who is making their grand pitch to these guys ends up getting none of them. Bulls, in 2000, got turned down by Tim Duncan, Grant Hill, and Tracy McGrady. The Bulls had Elton Brand (Rookie of the year), Ron Artest (solid rookie season), and high draft picks Marcus Fizer and Jamal Crawford to offer these guys playing with. What exactly do the Knicks have to offer these guys to play with? The Bulls strategy was to get two of them, and bada bing, bada boom, you have a championship team. None of them signed, and we ended up with Ron Mercer and Brad Miller, and used our residual cap room the next year to sign Eddie Robinson.
