Oh well, that's ball game. A great game by the Ducks running backs.

I dunno man, I think it's over. Oregon will at least be able to run clock off on this, and we only have two time outs. In addition our scoring drives this half are taking some time. If we can hold them to three and out (really quite questionable at this point - Blount and Johnson are just damn good) and get some 27 second scoring drives like at the end of the half we have a shot but my gut tells me the Oregon running game was just too much to overcome this game. Hats off to them.

Edit: Also like I suspected James is gone for the game - he never came back after that tackle on the sidelines.

Glad Oregan won. I don't want to see OSU vs. PSU in the Rose Bowl, c'mon.

Oh well. What an outstanding game by the Ducks running game. I am sad that Sammie's last game at home ended like this but they just shredded our defense. At least we have three more years (hopefully) of Quizz.

Yeah, when it was only 20 points (3 scores) I didn't feel so bad in the first quarter or even with 10 minutes left. But once Oregon got the ball back and started milking the clock. It's really frustrating. If Oregon was on the verge of a Pac-10 championship I wouldn't mind them beating us. But I do mind them wrecking our glory shot. Fucking ducks.

I heard Quizz is transferring to Oregon after the game.

I will give credit for the offense for putting up 38 points considering the loss of Quizz and then James though. Oregon's offensive line and running backs just man-handled the defense though.

Its scary to think how good the Beavers are going to be next year (and the year after probably).

    Keep your heads up, Beavers.

    1. You still do have a shot at the Rose Bowl
    2. an 8 win season (probably 9 after ya'll win another bowl game) is awesome and you guys continue to be the 2nd best pac-10 team in the last 3 years.

Reeser is becoming a challenging stadium to play at, which speaks volumes about where that program has come. Props to you guys. Hell of a run this season.

Ya'll are going to take it out on the team you play in your bowl vs and rip their heads off, imo.

    Good luck.

gg Beavers. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would drop 65, but our offense did not turn it over and Lyle and Mccants did. Story of the game as both defenses were invisible. Our misdirection really took the Beaver DEs out of the game and werent able to put pressure on Masoli all game long.
Good luck in your bowl game , i still hope ucla upsets sc to get u to the roses.
Also, I dont think Quizz wins you this game. OUr weakness is against the pass and it showed, maybe by running quizz those big chunks of passing yardage dont happen? who knows?
I was on pins and needles the whole night until late, because your O was owning our D. I truly hope both teams do well in 09 so we can do this again. Hope there isnt too many asshole Duck fans that come in here and pop off, take your win and be happy.

I don't know if Quizz lets us win the game but I think he makes it closer and more manageable. He might not have gotten big chunks off but I think he'd get four yards a carry and give us the ball longer. McCants just couldn't get anything going and Francis became the best option because he could at least catch the ball out of the backfield. He would have, in my opinion, kept the Ducks offense off the field for at least a bit more. But with the way the Ducks o-line and Johnson and Blount abused our defensive line it may not have mattered.

    Edit:

Also thanks for the kind words. It was a good season - I wish that Stanford game had ended differently and Catchings hadn't fumbled it into the end-zone for a touchback for the Cardinal but those are the breaks. A possible 9-4 (not three I can't count good game me) season is a good thing and I am incredibly excited for the future with Quizz and James, but will definitely miss Sammie and am again sad that this is how his last home game went. I'll also miss Strong-Butler and Norris but we're always somehow able to replace guys on the defensive line each year even when you think we can't. That is a true testament to Mike Riley and the defensive line coach for recruiting and shaping those ends and tackles.

Yea Quizz would have kept us honest, most definitely, but I am just not sure he is a 27 point swing.
Offensively, Oregon played out of their minds tonight, best one since Michigan in 07.
Assuming USC wins, where will OSU go..Holiday/Sun? Holiday looks like Missouri and not sure about the Sun, but I dont think the Sun can take UO due to a repeat clause, which actually cost OSU the better bowl berth last season because they beat Mizzou in 06.
As for net year, OSU gets the tough road schedule in the Pac, do they have any promising backups in the secondary or DE?

The Beavers defense just couldn't stop the Ducks. Definitely disappointing.... Still, after watching the first 3 games of the season, I never thought the Beavers would have as good of a season as they did. I don't see UCLA beating USC, but you never know. Never been one to root for Neu-weasel, but I guess I will be next weekend.

Since Quizz doesn't play defense, it is doubtful he would have made a difference. Still -- ducks got a lot of breaks and maybe with Quizz and a couple plays bouncing the Beavers way it is a close game down to the finish.

Won't USC go to the RB now (assuming they win out)? Then Oregon goes to the HB, and OSU goes to the "who gives a crap now" bowl?
