Oliver Perez led the league in walks did he not?

He didn't make it to 200 innings pitched.

    Had a 4.22 ERA.

A.J. Burnett ranked 1st in the league in Strikeouts. Fourth in Wins with 18.

    Pitched 220+ innings.

    Had a 4.07 ERA.

    I'd go with A.J.

AJ is always injured, is older, and is more expensive.

I don't really think money is a problem with the Yankees.

Perez is only younger by like 4 years.

Perez has a career record of 55-60 and a career ERA of 4.39

Burnett has a career record of 87-76 with a career ERA of 3.81

In 175 games, Perez has issues 528 walks.

In 215 games, Burnett has issued 568 walks.

If that were to continue, Perez would surpass Burnett in career walks this season most likely. And keep going and going and going.

Burnett is pitching in probably the hardest division in baseball. Perez, only real competition in the NL East these days is the Phillies.

A CC, Wang, Joba front 3 is very nice. I love Hughes; I think he could break out this year. Pettitte as a 5th starter is not bad at all.

I'm not a fan of Hughes in the starting 5 at all.

In the games he did start last year, he was horrible. The previous year he wasn't that great either.

I'd say keep him as something along the lines of a long reliever or a spot starter.

I think he just needs time, like all young pitchers. No reason to give up on him with his trade value so low.
