Do you guys think we could get Kenyon back? Reports say that Denver is shipping him around and dosnt want him and his huge salery anymore.I would love to have him back, he was the heart and soul when he was with NJ and we need a emotional player. We also need a big man bad that can play defense, what Martin is.Why should we take on his big salery? Because if we got him without having to give up the big 4(Kidd,Carter.Jefferson and Kristic) I think we are as good as any team then. We would then have that big man defender we need to stop the elite like TD and others. Plus Kenyon will improve our fast break to. If you remember when he was with us, it was Kidd with the ball and Kerry Kittles,Kenyon and Jefferson following. We had a lot of sucsees back then with the fastbreak, but right now we only have to people running, Carter and Jefferson. Collins and Kristic do not run so we are missing that third person on the break, which Martin is very good at.So is it good to take on Martin's big overpaid contract? Yes, because with him the championship is right there.
Yeah he would add a lot to New Jersey though I feel Jason Kidd is not what he once was. The speed isn't quite there but the nets would definitely improve.
If we can get him without having to give up anyone in the big four, gettin KMart back would put us over the top and into contention for the championship with one of the best starting lineups in the league. I would be more than willing to offer both first round picks and any other players outside of Krstic, Kidd, RJ and Vince (I would like to hold on to Wright, as well, if at all possible)..If we were able to acquire him and perhaps add Tim Thomas to the bench if he does indeed get his contract bought out by Chicago, we could become a major force in the league once again..Just imagine:KiddVCRJK-MartKrsticI think Kidd's presence would make things easier for K-Mart, as well as he would once again be able to capatalize on his passing prowess while giving us a low post presence to complement Krstic and a rebounding and defensive presence to greatly improve the club...
It would be great to see KMart in Denver again, but there is no way that you can afford him at this point. His contract is way too big to handle as the Nets already have 3 big contacts. They need to focus on another PF who is solid and whose contract isn't all that big. All you can really point to is the Abdur-Rahim deal, they should have just signed him and moved on.
The Nets can match up the salary by way of McInnis, Marc Jackson and perhaps another bench player along with the two draft picks. I believe I saw a succesfull scenario on RealGM similar to that in which the salaries did match up..

The Nets bench would then be depleted, though I do realize that those 2 guys don't play much. But still, will the Nuggets even consider a deal like that? It would be interesting to see, but I just don't see it happening.
No way can the Nets get Martin w/o giving up one of the big threeMartin makes close to 11 million , McInnis and Jackson combined make about 7. It would take McInnis, Jackson and like Cliff Robinson which isn't worth it....But I like the idea of having an offensively competent PF on the roster....
The reason the Nuggets would be interested in dealing K-Mart would be to get rip of his large contract. Completing such a deal from Denver's standpoint would allow them to berid of his massive contract and give them hope for the future with some cap relief and several draft picks that can help them down the line. From a Nets prespective, there is absolutely no reason to do it, even if you have to give up two or three quality bench players. This trade puts you over the top and gives you an oppurtunity to contend for a championship will Kidd is still playing at such a high level. With Kidd getting up there in age, the window of oppurtunity is beginning to narrow, and acquiring K-Mart would give them as good a chance as any to compete for a ring. Im not worried about the bench because we have several solid guys who would be left after the deal, not to mention Collins would move to the bench and Wright would be given more playing time (he has shown alot of promise lately), additionally, if Tim Thomas becomes avaible later on, he can be added to help shore up the bench. The bench is the least of my worries, and if this deal can get done, I, as a Nets fan, would most definatly do it..

if they're smart, they'll stay away. K-Mart has a huge contract, and he's inconsistent and injury prone. He's not worth the risk, or the players/picks they'd give up.

Its just they wouldnt accept that trade. Maybe if we throw in 2 first round pics we could have him back.
You'd have to throw in the two picks, obviously, but I think they would do it because this gives them cap room. Three of the four guys are on one year contracts and the other, Jackson, is on a two year deal..
Yeah, If he comes back though, I will go nuts idk what I will do. I would deffinally go to the first Nets home game that he plays. We get Kmart, watch out.
KMart is a guy who plays with alot of emotion and you could tell he loved playin in Jersey and his interaction with the fans was great. He fed off the crowd and the Kenyon Martin chants and he played hard every night. I think if he were to return he would want to prove himself again and show Denver they made a mistake in trading him (although they did make a mistake in paying him that much)..I think that starting 5 would be tremendous and it would allow us to send Collins to the bench to improve our depth behind KMart and Krstic. Adding Tim Thomas to that roster gives you a much improved bench to go along with arguably the best starting 5 in the league..
