Because he thinks fans should be grateful their team has a good coach? Everybody thought we would have to be happy watching young guys develop and hope that the team at least looks competitive. And lots of "fans" are still bitching!
how is it possible the worst coach in the league has won 200 games?? I'll tell ya why because he's really one of the best coaches in the league...
Oh I get it. Those who trash Frank have no bias and their blatant disregard for MY opinion (which is obviously the correct one) shouldn't be dismissed. He should be coach of the month in the East. We will know in a few days. It will be his fifth. The problem is that having committed so much psychic energy to disparaging Frank many on this board are now involved in (hysterically funny) mental gymnastics to try to cover their original positions. Short sellers in the field of hoops knowledge caught in a buyers market.
I love Frank. But I also like objectivity (at least as objective as fans can be). And neither you nor the Frank bashers seem to show it very often. I'm just saying it seems as if you attack anyone who says Frank has flaws, and your comment about how we should all be "grateful" comes off as a bit arrogant. I think Frank has done a great job, but i also think many other coaches in the league could have us in this exact same position.
Lawrence Frank is the youngest coach in the NBA and the 2nd longest tenured coach in Nets history, not to mention the 3rd longest tenured coach in the NBA after Jerry Sloan and Greg Popovich. That's a little ridiculous. I've called for the head of Rod Thorn more than once, but I will say that he's got two things going for him - an innate sense of the perfect time to pull the trigger on a big trade, and the fact that he never once said anything about Lawrence Frank's job security, even when the team as a whole was underachieving.
