Gary Payton could be the worst analyst I have ever heard. As Charles Barkley would say "He's Teh ri bull"
I feel bad for RJ, I and overall WE can't complain about RJ he did great for us and it is true what he says, when he came in nobody liked the Nets, but heck NJ is 50 times better than Milwaukee will ever be. I got a lot of respect for him and he handled himself in a very profesional manner in that conversation, they were just trying to bother him and even then he treated the city of Milwaukee and NJ with respect. NOW!! Picture LeBron in that situation!
I actually watched this live, funny stuff. I may not be paying attention, but it didn't hit me that Gary Payton is as dumb as rocks until I saw that video.
RJ could arguably have had his number retired had he played a couple more years in NJ. He played hard and played well for a lot of years. NBA TV's analysts are pretty crappy. Steve Smith and Eric Snow are stiffs and Payton is just not a smart guy. Great player, but zero tv skills.
