So I gotta tell you guys...Bynum is starting to REALLY get into form. I dont know if any of you managed to watch the Lakers V Raptors game last night but if you did then you saw Bynum OWNING Bosh on both sides of the court. Bosh didnt know what to do with him. Bynum had Bosh throwing up an airball from 8 feet. He altered so many damn shots last night. Not a single block but thats fine because all his defense was so good the shots being put up might as well have been blocked because they were so off the mark due to him. With him only altering and not blocking the shots made it easier to get the rebound rather than swatting it out of bounds. He is averaging 9 shot attempts a game and has produced 12.4 points a game so far. 10+ rebounds 4 of the last 5 games. Its hard to stand out when you have Kobe who always does his thing AND Pau playing outta his mind but Bynum is! Right now he has back to back 18/10 games...but his real impact is on defense...and its BIG Also, In the post game interview he said his bone spur inst causing him any problems. I love Andrew Bynum!
He is playing well. I'm confused with the Lakers trainers and doctors. Last year they told Kobe he needed to have surgery, but he chose not to and we haven't heard a word since. This season it went from Bynum was going to be out for a while and now he's fine?
With all due respect - Bosh is an undersized PF - and the Raps are playing without much offensive fire-power - so it is not a big surprise that he was able to over-match him. Still impressive - but I doubt he would have the same kind of impace if JO was in there playing. Bosh must have had a bad game as well (I did not see it) - he is usually very quick and gets to the rim rather nicely. Still - good for him. He is a good player and should be able to do it more often. A little surprised that he is not blocking as much for a guy of his height and wing-span.
congrats to Bynum, but really congrats to the lakers. They are playing dominating bball. (However, I do really hate the lakers.) Now, can a mod move this to the OT Forum?
Well he decided not to do it after the Olympics because they said he could be out until early December. They told him he wouldnt risk any further damage, just pain. He can deal with pain as we all know. Are you talking about the recent bone spur? The initial reports had him "day to day" so there was no certain claim that he would be missing games.
why are they playing him with a "loose bone spur"? that seems pretty risky. i think they shouldn't risk it and fix it up so he'll be ready before the playoffs
Well you added the word "loose"...I dont know if it is loose and honestly dont know much about this type of stuff. From what Ive heard and read it seems more of a dealing with discomfort injury rather than something that can really hinder his game. I agree if there is ANY chance of this affecting him during the playoffs then they should remove it now but I dont think they think that will be the case.
somebody said that in the first thread about his injury. i think its a quick clean up surgery thats what i heard, the regular season is almost worthless for them now. except to get the number 1 seed and home court advantage
I agree with the highlighted...Im just so scared to put Bynum under the knife even for something so small. I just want him to keep building on his game uninterrupted.
Preach! Nobody here wants to acknowledge/notice that! They think all he is is alley-oops and put backs!
Bah humbug...The POR board are where my homies are at! I dont like talking about stuff like this with Lakers fans...It just becomes one big circle jerk
This is Bynum's fourth year right? So ya he has developed some nice post moves--hopefully Oden can learn some during the year haha.
Bynum has been huge for the Lakers. He allows Pau to play his natural position of power forward. He is a nice player and should be good for years to come. The battles between Bynum and Oden will be a pleasure to watch....as long as Oden whips his ass.
