Hmmm. I couldn't disagree more. "Better" is a classic rock song straight out of the wrapper. If you can tell me, honestly, after 3 listens of this song that it doesn't get stuck in your head, I'll just drop the whole conversation. But you have to be honest about it. That goes for ANYONE reading this thread. Listen to "Better" 3 times and tell me that song isn't completely and utterly catchy. It's a very well written song. I think, for the most part, the whole album is damn good. I'm impressed.
Well, it definitely sounds like it was recorded over a long period of time...doesn't sound like a cohesive album to me. I also really miss the catchy Les Paul work of Slash...come to think of it, I miss all of the original band... Overall, it's not the worst thing I've ever heard but it's not very inspiring either.
I thought maybe this would be the first good music ever to be created by GNR, but it appears I'm still waiting. Not holding my breath though.
Clearly you define "relevant" and "generation" differently than I do. Nirvana, while amusing and catchy, were relevant in what way and to whom? And who were they a voice for? Junkies who spend little time practicing their craft? How about 30, 40, 50 years? Tom Waits, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt, BB King, Toni Bennett, Yes, Edgar and Johnny Winter, Jethro Tull, Robin Trower, Al Dimeola, John McLaughlin, Carlos Santana, Elton John, Randy Newman...
