-Hoopsworld The article says Felton could make the Wolves a playoff team. Uhh, I don't think so. But this is an interesting move for Minnesota and a confusing one for Charlotte.
A foye-felton backcourt? I guess it could work. Is it just me or do Raymond Felton and Randy Foye have an almost identical game?
I don't know that I'd say identical..I think Felton is much more likely to set up an offense than Foye...who seems to me to be the "Roy Lite" of the two. Although CHA seemed to be getting ok results from the Felton/Augustine experiment when they went small.
I don't see how this makes them a play-off team, and Larry Brown had better not let MJ make that lopsided a trade unless they want to follow the Clipper model.
I don't see how you get better trading one poor team's bad players for another's. And playoffs for Minny? hahahah...
Some of the "fantasy" trades posted on this board seem just as legitimate. The only thing missing here is the "sources say" line of BS to quasi-validate the rumor.
Hoopsworld broke the Shaq to Miami trade. They have really good sources in some cities and virtually no sources in others. I broke some stories when I was covering the Blazers. You are only partially right.
Minnesota actually have a potential four 1st Rounders!!! 1) Thiers (which only goes to the Clippers if it falls out of the top 10....which..ummm...doesn't look like an issue) 2) Miami's (which is top 10 protected) 3) Boston's 4) Utah /via 76ers (top 22 protected in 2009, unprotected in 2010)
Not that I am a big Felton fan, but I can't see why Charlotte would do this deal? The first is most likely Boston's, so you get what, a pick at 28-30? McCants? Gets you 12 minutes a game behind Richardson. Collins is crap. Makes no sense.
Charlotte looks to trade Felton because he's not as good as Augustine. It's just a question of what the Bobcats can get for him... and I'd imagine it's not too much. Ed O.
