    Hello darkness, my old friend
Great win over a solid team. I thought Portland should be the better team...trading Billups for Iverson hurt Detroit a lot this year.

Great to see Oden and Aldridge have big games. Roy I am now very certain of--he's a star, a big-time player. I want to see Oden and Aldridge reach that certainty as well. Batum just continues to impress, wow.

I love the way Oden a couple times block a shot to himself. Blocks it and snags it!

That's impressive, yeah. I also REALLY liked the way he hit his free throws... it let him stay in at the end without having to go offense-defense.

One thing, though? Oden needs to DOMINATE players like Kwame Brown. The Blazers need to be able to run plays that exploit a defender like Brown and Oden cannot allow Kwame to get the low position that he was getting.

I expect him to get better at those things as he gets a bit more experience and (of course) as he gets more confidence in his knee.

Ya, some of his technique wasn't the best, but he will get better especially as he starts to play centers again and again.

And he will get the ball more in the future, but right now I think they are trying to get him into the game without distrupting the offense. Eventually he'll have some real dominating games on O.

I was very impressed with the Blazers win today. I was thinking in the 1st quarter that we might be on the way to another blowout, but knew we were playing Detroit. Impressive 8 rebounds in the 1st quarter for Oden. I was a little worried about this game, but Portland played a good game. So did the Steelers today, great day for HOWIE. :D

He was taking shots he normally makes "110%" of the time.

That is, essentially, like traveling faster than the speed of light... causing AI to go back in time and forcing David Stern to instruct the refs to stop him from shooting so much.

They did the "trap in the backcourt, take the ball out of the PGs hands" thing after most buckets and FTs. Iverson wasn't bringing it up much, so he wasn't able to call his own number that much. It wasn't for lack of being able to go around Blake anytime he wanted, though Steve was putting in effort. Roy's first two fouls were b/c Iverson blew into the lane and Roy was out of position to help.

Because Hamilton is their best SG and Stuckey is their best PG.

I agree. Actually I think the only reason Brown is still in the league is that he's a pretty good post defender. Yeah, Greg should clearly win the matchup but I don't know that Greg should be expected to dominate him in his first year. I certainly wouldn't complain however.

Did you see how qucik he got up on that last dunk? And how he kept the ball high? THAT IS MY BOY!!! He is learning from his mistakes. He is a bright kid, with great work ethic, and ALL of the physical tools to be GREAT.

    GO GREGORY!

Did I hear right that Oden was calling out the D to the rest of the team or was that a different player?

Yeah that was Greg, I remember Rice mentioning it during the game.
