I'm not looking ahead to Boston. I'm scared about tonight. It seems that upscale teams sometimes give the team fits and so I'm thinking tonight, not Boston. Gramps...
Well... New York is always a special place to play no matter if the Knicks suck or not. Especially for west coast teams who get to play there once a year. Nate seems to keep the players grounded pretty well, and they know we haven't won or done anything yet.
I think the danger is simply NY and their up tempo system. Portland with all of their athletes can't play fast for some reason. Portland will lose this one tonight, but it will have nothing to do with Boston. More to do with their coach not being able to get them to play against fast paced teams
They better not be looking ahead. If we really want an elite seed in the playoffs, these next 2 games are MUSTS! You HAVE to beat the crappy teams on the road, because road wins are so hard to come by.
I'm also worried about the game tonight also for the exact same reasons you guys alluded to. Hopefully Nate makes the Knicks adjust to our big lineup and our halfcourt sets.
Hell I wouldn't mind seeing us play uptempo tonight. Maybe not quite as uptempo as NY but we have the athletes to outgun NY even in there style of play. I think we play trapping defense tonight and exploit their lack of depth.
Nate will tell them - they play like GSW - we can't allow the refs to decide the game again - and the Blazers are going to crush the shell of the NYK. Add the fact that Brandon seems to love playing in MSG and that LaMarcus is now hitting his shots - and this is going to be murderer's row out there tonight. Remember how the media basically was very quiet when Portland had the 42 and 38 blow-outs in the Rose Garden. Expect tomorrow's headlines to be astounded by the Massacre at the (other) Garden. The only question I have is the number of alley-oops from Sergio to Rudy and the question if they are going to be over 3 tonight.
I'm looking for some Sergio-to-Bayless oops. Bayless has been playing nice in his garbage time lately (getting boards and passing...not just looking for his shot like he was earlier) and I think Sergio's been looking to hook him up lately. Bayless showed some hops, just not the ability to finish.
there is no reason Greg/Joel/LMA should not have huge games on the inside. Who is their big, David Lee?
Harrington and Lee have only 12 fouls total to give. Are they even suiting up (hee hee) Jerome James? Or Malik? David and Al both had 5 fouls against GSW. No-big, GSW. (Well, unless you count Maggette, who seems to get fouls called on every big he plays.
Lee and Harrington have 12 fouls to give before they're gone. Are they even suiting up (hee hee) Jerome James? Or Malik? The one thing that would make me happy if it's close late is Tim Thomas against Greg Oden.
