http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...plaxico_burress_suspended_by_giants_done.html Damn, didn't see this coming. So how does this effect the Giant's chances of repeating as Superbowl champs?
10% chance, they have proved they can win without him in the season, but let us see in the playoffs, but doubt that will change there. But it doesn't make there road any easier. I think if this was Jacobs this would hurt significantly more.
If it were Sean O'Hara or Chris Snee it would be a disaster. As long as there are no more injuries on the offensive or defensive line, the Giants will be right there.
It's going to make an impact. We destroyed Seattle without him and didn't look any less dominant, but Seattle is also a poor defensive team. Against the Redskins this week, you could see the difference his absence makes against good, playoff-level teams. While we're able to pass the ball proficiently, teams aren't willing to respect that as much without the threat of Plax. The 'Skins stacked the box a number of times, despite Eli's passing numbers that day. I foresee a lot of teams approaching us the same way, willing to take their chance on Eli without Plax, rather than the running game. I doubt our three backs will be as dominant in the playoffs as they've been so far this season. That said, we can still win and still win dominantly without him. It'll just happen differently.
The thought came to my mind. If you guys can beat us again (if we meet soon), without him. Granted you won without him last time. But the Steve Smith story makes this all weird....
gotta think that he's played his last game for the Giants. Hopefully it'll be more addition by subtraction (like with Tiki and Shockey).
