Only 4 of their first 15 games were away from the Staple Center. FINALLY, the Lakers go on a road trip and drop the first one. I love it. They no longer have the best record in the league and they are only 2.5 games ahead of a Portland team that has played TWELVE games away from the Rose Garden. Look for the Lakers to continue to fall down the standings as the Blazers go up.
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. I agree...Lakers are in total free fall Furthermore this isnt our first road trip....We had to fly all the way to the Staples Center to face the Clippers! A 2nd of a back to back!!!
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. They lost one game and it was on a last second tip in. I'm pretty sure they'll be on top for the foreseeable future. I think you may be being a bit too optimistic here. I hope you're right though.
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. Yea...because one loss is going to make this team absolutely collapse. Despite the loss, the Lakers are still the best team the West and arguably the best in the NBA. They're probably the deepest team in the league, they have more offensive weapons than any other team, and despite tonight's showing, they do actually play much better defense than what they did last year. I'm not worried. At all. The last time we lost, we ended up winning what, 8 in a row? Something like that. Yea, I'm not worried. Talk to me about this loss if we drop a couple more games.
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. Nope. You guys are done with. Over. Finished. Your season is undone, the place at the top of the Western Conference? Fool's gold. You've got a knuckle-sandwich filled with reality flying your way buddy. This loss unveiled everything. EVERYTHING! Like the Celtics (and their double digit loss to the Pacers wasn't it?) the year is doomed. You should just stop playing now - it can only get worse.
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. Yeah, I'm not going to hold my breath just yet. But here's some interesting numbers: Last ten games: Portland (8-2), margin of victory: +11.3, road games: 6 Los Angeles (8-2), margin of victory: +9.4, road games: 3
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. I'm telling you, it's only a matter of time before the Lakers are only winning by eight points per game. Maybe even seven.
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. A) The Celtics are currently the best in the NBA. They are champs and have a better record. There's no argument. B) The Blazers are the deepest team in the league. C) You better believe I'll talk about this loss when you drop a couple more games. Those days will come soon.
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. Tonight, the Lakers' bench scored an impressive 32 pts. The Blazers' bench, however, scored 47.

Nice going, Bydumb. BTW, they had so many "fans" whining after the loss that their forum crashed for four hours. Now, you can't tell me you aren't the least bit concerned about this game.
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. Why are DaRizzle and KingSpeed trying to transform the Blazers board into a Lakers discussion place?
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. It is not enough that the Blazers win. The Lakers must also lose before happiness is complete in Rip City.
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. So is it OK to post a thread about the Lakers downfall but not OK to talk about how good the Lakers is?
Re: OT: Lakers' downfall. While rumors of the Lakers' demise are, alas, premature, it is true that they've had a cupcake schedule. One of their "road" games was against the Clippers, so all they had to do was change uniforms. The Clipper game was also their only back to back, and again involved no travel except to the visitors' locker room. Yes, they've played very well. Sad but true. But they've sure gotten a lot of help. Will they be so dominating on their own (well, they will still play 8 on 5, except maybe against Boston)?
