We have some assets, including young potential players (Gerald Green) and a crap load of picks. I'm hoping we can trade Raef for a star w/ a bad rep in his hometown. Steve Francis anyone?
I was opposed at first to Francis coming here, but I think it would be a good move if we could possibly acquire him. It would take a lot though, maybe tony allen, raef, first rounder....something along those lines.
If we could get the Franchise for that cheap, i'd do it in a second. It'll probably take 2 first rounders tho..
I'm tired of holding onto 1st rounders, so I would be in favor of trading them for a proven commodity. Francis is great but notice how he wears out his welcome in each place he's at? Trading Raef for anything would be great, just to get rid of that awful contract. Imagine if Danny moved both contracts of Blount and Raef in one season.....

I know he's a good draft guy but c'mon lets win some games, is he planning for the future 20 years down the road???!!! We have enough young guys on this team, package Raef, first rounder, maybe TA or even Wally if it takes that and bring in a player like steve francis or someone that can score and run an offense. Francis could also help develop Delonte.
jsut read on celticsblog today that Danny doesn't expect anything to go down before the deadline. And we know no one will offer us anything w/ Raef, so i guess we'll just wait until the summer.
What do we need Francis for? He would just take away from Pierce and Wally. At this point, I think we are better off without him. He is a cancer that thinks he is better then the team. I am not interested in him, and pray that he never wears a Celtics uniform.

It'd be cool to have three guys who are all pontentially 20 point scorers - that looks awesome on video game franchises - but not good for team chemistry. I rather have a PG who is smart with the ball, distributes it well, can drop in around 10-12 points a night (15-20 if needed) and is adequate on guarding guys. Another words, I want a pass first guy who plays team ball, not a highlight real who hogs it and is just a stat champ, aka Stevie Franchise. Steve is a very good player, but I don't think he'll help in bringing rings to Boston. Let Isiah Thomas trade for him.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (WELCOMEtotheJUNGLE @ Feb 15 2006, 08:12 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Great points man, I agree, Danny keeps getting these draft picks... This team needs a few solid veterans who you can count on. We ned balance. Blount was amazingly inconsistent, Raef is no where near worth his contract and Davis is gone now. I'll probably like the addition of Wally more and more as time progresses but Ainge still hasn't addressed the real issues of the team: PG and C. I've been saying ever since The Chief left that Boston needs to get a good center who will be solid for them. They've struck out horribly with the guys they've put in there.
Ehh, i'm not a fan of Steve Francis, he always wears down in the second half of the season...You guys need to stay put and realize your not going to win a title now or with Steve Francis...Good things come to those who wait...Players get traded for a reason.
