no they won't. They'll want a good sized shooting guard to play with Mayo who'll be their point... and who proposed a Conley for Blake deal??? STOMP
uh, I give, who? I proposed a Bayless and Frye trades for Conley. I don't want to mess with our major players right now though.
Frye would make some sense for them, but you won't get me to budge any closer towards wanting Conley... I just don't see the allure today or back when he was being drafted. Short of Gay and Mayo, I'm not wanting any of their guys. Since I see Memphis as a poor trading partner w/PDX, if I were them I'd be eyeing Channing as a FA. STOMP
Truth be told, I'd have to have access to the info that KP has before I'd trade Bayless. I just haven't seen him play against real nba ballers yet.... just a few minutes of garbage time in which he wasn't impressive. I suspect that Bayless has the personality type that would say "play me or trade me" but at this time I have no proof of that. Mostly I'm testing the water to see what others think about it though. I don't see how you could be so certain of how Conley is going to turn out at this point of his career. Mostly I think that you just enjoy stompin on stuff.
well the last few years KP has done pretty much what I hoped as far as drafts and trades. I rated the 2006 Draft 1LaMarcus 2Roy 3Gay 4Bargnani... and I did not want Morrison. Like most everyone I wanted Greg in 2007 and was one of the few here who applauded the Zach trade. I liked Frye & Jones, thought Rudy was a great get, and was excited about the potential capspace. The last draft Batum was 2nd on my wish list at #13 and I never dreamed Portland would luck into Bayless. For the 3rd strait year I rated their draft day an A. Believe me when I tell you I was not so rosey/optimistic about the drafts and moves of Nash and Co. Both of those drafts I was hoping that I'd turn out to be dead wrong. So while I'm not certain of how Conley is going to turn out in his career, I've been doing pretty well with projections for a while now and don't feel I should be shy about throwing in my 2 cents on a chat site. It's just my opinion which you're free to disregard or throw back in my face if it turns out that I should be eating some crow. Why are you so certain that he's going to metamorph into a good player? The guys currently on the team are largely guys I had my fingers crossed about somehow getting before they were Blazers. Would I be a better poster in your eyes if I were to reverse course after getting what I wanted and advocate getting rid of these same young guys who are currently tearing the league a new one for guys I didn't/don't think will be successful (ex:Conley)? ...and btw, my name has nothing to do with stomping on posters/ideas... it was the name of a snowboarding product I was going through the patent process on a decade back when I first started posting with this group of diehards. STOMP
then why in the world have you been repeatedly accusing me and others of being "certain" on projecting Conley's future? I've qualified nearly every statement I've made regarding him and haven't come anywhere close to claiming certainty... having reread most of this thread it seems you've created a strawman to argue against. STOMP
Where have I done this? I find it "amusing" that you and others are willing to write off a promising point guard after he's only been in the league for a year and 2 months. Actually, I find it more than amusing... history shows that it just isn't smart. You're the one that said you didn't find Memphis a good trading partner.
You do know that I'm just a fan right? I'm sharing my guesses on players and like everyone else here I don't actually make player personnel decisions... get it? Probably not, you've failed at comprehending nearly everything else I've stated and are now acting like you're above it all laughing at all us dummies. I do wish I'd found this conversation amusing or smart, but unfortunately all you've offered is a lot of petty needling over nothing. Whatever dude... STOMP
It looks as though I may've taken your comments out of context. I came across rather rude and for that I apologize. We at least seem to agree on the issue. You are a very solid poster and I'm sorry for ruffling your feathers.
Not even close. Conley is a mere scrub who'd never crack the lineup on this team, and Raef's contract is worth Gay, but I'd hate for either to become Blazers. I have higher standards than that.
Backup PF is our weakest spot. I like TO at the 3 and see nobody else to spell LaMarcus on this team.
Speak for yourself. It's apparent that Nate has warmed to my gentle prodding for him to play Sergio more. Just a matter of time until KP seeks my guidance on trade matters.
JOEL FREELAND will take care of the backup PF problem next yr if anyone is concerned. The Brit kid will be ready.
