In 2003 they draft Aleksandar Pavlovic in the first round, after one year but trade him. He's now going a fine job in place for Larry Hughes in Cleveland. In the second round they draft highly talented Alabama star Mo Williams, he hardly plays and after one year they trade him to Milwaukee, he is now one of the top picks for 6 man of the year and has won 3 games on last second shots with the Bucks, he's now a fan favorite. In 2004 they draft Kris Humphries in the first round, now they hardly play him and he probably won't be resigned when his draft contract is up. They also drafted Kirk Snyder 16th overall and after one dissapointing season they trade him as well. Now Snyder is starting in Oklahoma City and playing well. In 2005 they draft Deron Williams and yet again Jerry Sloan throws another rookie in the doghouse, Deron Williams never knows how much he is going to play, his rookie year has been a huge dissapointment while Felton and Paul picked below him, have played much better. Anyone see a trend here? Utah, when they drafts well (hardly ever) they ship the players out after one year, this is one of the reasons this team was never able to do it in the late ninties and it's the reason they have no depth right now. Sloan gives up on these guys too early.
Well first of all. Pavlovic and Humphries aren't good players. Second of all Deron Williams is a rookie. And I think he isnt starting because Sloan would rather start a veteran then a rookie. Some coaches just like to do that regardless of talent. Deron is still getting good minutes for a rookie and I bet next year he will be starting and playing about 30-35 mins a game.Edit: What does the Jazz' stadd have to do with Deron not shooting at a high percentage? Beside his percentage he has been playing very well for a rook. Notice how he made the Rookie Challenge instead of Felton?edit2: How is Pavlovic's 5 points and 1 assist good for 6th man of the year. ANd especially how can he win 6th Man of the year when he is starting most of the games?

Raymond Felton didn't make the rookie game because he's been playing behind Brevin Knight, when he's started he's put up great numbers.

Pavlovic is decent but he is just an average player. Backup combo guard hs whole career. And nice try BCB but Raymond Felton plays just as mcuh as Deron and Deron doesn't start either.

Raymond Felton is playing behind one of the better PG's in the NBA in Brevin Knight.
Like I said, he is a rookie and they don't want him to play excessively. They have other veterans like McCleod and Polacio who need some playing time too. I don't think it is a good idea to play a rookie 30+ minutes a game unless you are a superstar like Chris Paul.
BCB, Sloan is similar to Brown in how they play rookies. They mostly don't. Unless your a phenom. You won't play much. Also, Humphries from what I saw is a ok backup player. Rebounds ok, not that good of a scorer, probably because he gets no real touches. But yea it's a bad situation for Deron to be in. Hard nosed coach, whose hard on rookies equals rough year.
Larry Brown and Jerry Sloan have never understood how to use young talent, they have screwed up or delayed so much time for these kids development...Yeah Jerry, play Milt Palacio so Deron knows what he's doing next year, you know you have to play Milt Palacio so you can stay 2 games under .500! :no1: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>BCB, Sloan is similar to Brown in how they play rookies.
