If my memory serves me right, Rondo can't hit a jumper to save his life. Why did Nate have Blake and Sergio pressing Rondo on the perimeter? Rondo is fast as hell and there was no way anybody on our roster was going to be able to stay in front of him without a 5 foot cushion. So why didn't Nate just basically play 4 on 5 on defense and had Blake & Sergio sag off of Rondo?

The only way we were going to beat the Celtics was if we could grind out a game where we didn't give easy buckets and got as many transition and 2nd chance points as possible. With Rondo gashing us in the half court and our terrible transition defense we gave the game away.

I agree. I didn't understand the tight defense on Rondo. His offensive game is drive and dish...outside of Bayless, no one on the roster has a hope of staying in front of him playing tight.

put rondo on a team with less talent and he will be average. i gurantee it. same thing with perkins. its the other three that make those 2 perform at a higher level. they are good players but nothing more.

i mean those talking heads at espn were saying rondo is an all star. yah...and so is channing frye. WTF????? LOL

Rondo has confidence, you could see it in his face. Having that team to back you up might foster that confidence, but he has it now. He certainly has the talent to play in the league, so he should do quite fine from here on out.

Rondo might be an all-star in the east this year, and even if Blake or Sergio sagged off him, I think Rondo would probably still drive past them both.
Blake's been having a ton of trouble keeping guards in front of him this season, and Sergio... well, we know he is not a defensive stopper. Just a bad matchup for us.

Rondo's jumpshot isn't as bad as people say it is. He can't hit threes, but his mid-range jumper is pretty good. He's very streaky, though.

I really think you guys underestimate Rondo. He is probably the 4th or 3rd best player from the 2006 draft. He might not be a super-star - but I suspect we will see him in the all-star game more than once.

No disrepect to Rondo intended. I think he's a great baller and would love him on the Blazers. But his jumper is his #1 weakness. Any good scheme should involve exploiting every players' weaknesses. The post was a slight jab at McMillan, not necessarily Rondo.
