No one knows what he said. I think we all can agree that sometimes leaders need to call out teammates. MJ certainly did.
KG probably threatened to take away the bag of twinkies he keeps in his locker if he doesn't step his game up.
There's really no reason for KG to be acting like this when you have a double-digit lead at home. All lot of KG's actions are because he has so much heart. You always see him talking to Pierce about the game on the bench once they've put the game away. But with other players he needs to save it for the locker room.
When is the last time that the Bulls had a double digit lead at home, though? Or Anywhere? There's nothing wrong with talking to your teammates. Once KG and Pierce have put the game away they still talk about what is happening on the court, that's good imo. But you have to pick your spots, Davus is not the right guy for KG to be doing that to. KG himself said after the game that Davis doesn't know his role on the team. I assume that KG said the exact same thing to him in the huddle, but in a less friendly way.
Davis needs to own up to his mistakes and the Celtics as a team need to get their focus back on what it took last season to win if they want to repeat. Their record is still tops in the NBA but the sloppy play, slow starts, dumb techs, and freewheeling on the plays Doc runs needs to be nipped in the butt before it becomes a bad habit. Repeating in the NBA is the toughest thing to do period and Garnett realizes that. KG is a really intense guy and when they squander leads like the one they had last night then the bench isn't doing their job and they need to be told it. In some instances hearing it from Doc won't resonate the way it can from a team mate and i'm sure this is not the first time this has come up. Not having Tony Allen was a big loss and guys needed to step up and not just waltz through to another victory. I'm sure KG can be one annoying prick but there's never a question of his desire to win. Davis looks fatter than ever and constantly has that somebody kicked my dog sad face on this season, he needs to realize his role and improve his game like Leon has it's that simple.
Morrison looks like Chuck Norris compared to this guy, lmao. "but guys, he told me to player harder, and i was already playing as hard as i can,"
yeah....and to all the haters...his place will be the Hall of Fame....no amount of hating can prove that he doesn't deserve to be there
agreed, some of these guys post comments that make them look like they have never player orginized sports in thier entire life...lol. Veterans are expected to get on the young players and keep them focused...sometimes it's best to hear it from a peer than from a coach...Davis needs to buck up and listen...just cause he tasted early success and got a ring his first year he doesn't need to slack....it's not about just him...it's about the team and what you can do to help the team...KG was probably just drilling that into his head. And as for the Morrison comment...if you've ever been in a high stake position with the game on the line...and to have it slip through your fingertips...you have no idea how much emotion you leave on the court/field whatever. it's only magnified when your labeled as the "Leader" of the team...like Morrison was that year. It's overwhelming when you feel like you let yourself down and the rest of the team when they needed you most. it's called passion for the game and commitment for the team. That's the true essence of sports....I wouldn't call him a cry-baby...it was a well warranted emotional moment
