With two games remaining before the break, Brand tries to lead the Clippers to their sixth victory in eight outings Tuesday when they host the Houston Rockets. Averaging a career-high 25.7 points and 10.4 rebounds, Brand has been the league's only player in the top 10 of both categories in recent weeks. He has led the Clippers in scoring in the last eight games, averaging 31.8 during that stretch. After tying a career high with 44 points against Memphis on Saturday, Brand scored 29 and grabbed 15 rebounds in Sunday's 97-91 loss to the Chicago Bulls. Houston has found a winning formula in February, winning six of its last seven after ending January with 11 losses in 14 outings. Yao Ming scored 24 points and David Wesley added 15 for the Rockets, who limited the New York Knicks to 38 percent (27-of-72) shooting from the floor in Sunday's 90-83 victory. Houston managed to win despite a poor outing by two-time scoring champ Tracy McGrady, who made only 3-of-20 shots and scored seven points, his lowest total in 22 games. Sam Cassell, who helped the Rockets win two NBA titles in the 1990s, scored 22 points for Los Angeles in an 89-81 victory over Houston on December 17, which ended the Clippers' nine-game losing streak against the Rockets.
My PredictionClippers by 7
