Devin Harris, who knew he would be this good?

Are there any other players out there that could break out into stars if given the opportunity?

Paul Millsap has been playing really well and putting up big numbers with Boozer injured. Boozer and Millsap could both be free agents next season. What will Utah do if Millsap keeps it up?

Barbosa is a few years removed from winning the sixth man award. He is a speedster like Harris. He's getting fewer minutes this season.

Any SF who can break out like Harris that the Nets could try to acquire? Wilson Chandler?

jr smith oozes talent and potential. if he can keep his head on straight he's going to be great when he gets some big minutes. i guess that's a pretty big "if" though.

Sure, dude's got potential, but at some point, you have to give up potential for results.

Ok, this guy might not turn into a star but maybe he could turn into a very good role player.

    Thabo Sefolosha.

I was watching some game footage of him and he's a pretty active player out there on the court. Good defender, rebounds, runs the floor hard, can handle and pass the ball a little. He's versatile. He just seems to be lacking a knockdown jump shot. But he does several other things well.

What about Mo Ager + 1st round pick for Thabo?

Thabo can guard three positions (PG, SG,SF). If he develops a jump shot then he could easily take the starting SF spot. But in the meantime he at least gives another look off the bench with his defense.

How about a VC + Sean for Barbosa + Diaw + 1st rd pick deal at the deadline...?

How fast would a Harris-Barbosa backcourt be?
Diaw can start at SF, and fill the facilitator role of VC, until Lebron arrives :)

(VC could really help the suns win now. he could play pick and roll with Amare, with Shaq on the other side under the basket... that would be crazy.)

The thing with Sefaolosha is he can't hit a jumper, he isn't a great finisher, he is just a horrible scorer. He gets good looks, he just is horrible at putting the ball in the hoop, making him a major liability on the court.

Although something like Sefolosha and Hinrich for Bobby Simmons could be arranged. No need to give up a draft pick at all!

Barbosa doesnt really use his speed to get to the line like harris he is more of a shooter who thrived in D'antoni's system, hes also a poor defender

Barbosa has been really struggling this season, if we can get him w/o trading carter that would be perfect. IMO we'll one player away from making a deep run into the playoffs

yes, but jr is nothing like stro. jr is far more assertive, he looks for his own shot. i think jr will become more consistent as he gets older and gets an opportunity to play more minutes.

Hinrich and Sefolosha for Bobby Simmons would be perfect but most likely the Nets would not want Hinrich who makes 9 mil in 2010.

Nocioni makes 6.5 mil in 2010 he would be perfect.

I would do Sefolosha for Sean Wiliams though

Yes. We'll throw in Andres Nocioni for Stromile Swift as well.

Sefolosha is not worth a draft pick. JR Smith is abysmal. Boris Diaw is a scrub and Barbosa isn't that good.

people nobody talking about that I would consider for trading for to be our starting SF would be Martell Webster who looks to be the odd man out when he comes back, Hakim Warrick and a guy I like is Jared Dudley.

Marquis Daniels has a contract that expires in 2010 and right now is averaging 15.4 and 5.7 rebs. When Dunleavy comes back he might be on the block.

keep in mind that Harris went 5th overall and is still young, so he didn't exactly come out of nowhere. He just wasn't in the right situation in Dallas. I'd be interested in trying out Ty Thomas or Bargnani to see if they just need to be somewhere else. Although they aren't really needed here with Anderson, Yi, and SWat, but I still think they could be good.

If you want a breakout candidate for a guy who could be great, and fit in as a small forward, I'd look at a couple from the '05 draft class-Marvin Williams and Ike Diogu. Marvin would probably cost a decent amount to get, but it isn't like Harris was given away. I'd love to make a move for Diogu, offer Ager and a 2nd rounder or something. He's only getting 3 minutes a game in Portland this year, so they probably wouldn't miss him. Diogu's per 36 numbers are quite impressive, and he went i think 9th overall only a few years ago. He is really efficient, gets to the line an awful lot, and he is a very good rebounder for his size.
