^^^ They are open to making trades. I have a blockbuster trade idea that might be my best idea ever haha

    Here it is.

Frye, Outlaw, Blake, Bayless and Raef for Calderon and O'Neal

Now I would hate to get rid of Bayless, but I would do it to get a better PG in the starting 5. We would have to get rid of Bayless to get Jose. This solves logjams at PG, SF and PF!!! Yes, we get rid of our Raef money, but Jermaine has a ton of money coming off the books in 2010, so we give up one more year, big whoop. Plus the guy can still play pretty well, unlike Raef. And Jermaine can be a great mentor to LMA and Greg, plus a fan favorite coming back to the team that drafted him. Not to mention we get ANOTHER Spanish connection!

    Now we look like this.

    Calderon\Sergio
    Roy\Rudy
    Batum\Webster
    LMA\O'Neal
    Joel\Oden

This also gives Toronto quite a facelife. Outlaw finally gets to start. Blake still starts and Bayless will actually get minutes. Then they can sign a good FA this off-season with Raefs money. They look like...

    Blake\Bayless
    Parker\Adams\Graham
    Outlaw\Moon\Kapono
    Bosh\Frye
    Bargnani\Humphries\Jawai

What do you guys think? Trade works after December 15th (because of Joses contract)

Calderon is a better assist man than Blake but he is not as good a 3 pt shooter and is not an upgrade on D - having Bayless in there really kills it for me. Bayless on paper looks the perfect PG to put next to Roy when this team is ready to contend.

I would not trade him at this point unless there is a bigger upgrade in the PG from a defensive stand-point - and JC is not it.

Yeah the hardest part of this one was putting Bayless in there. I think the trade will still work with Sergio instead of Bayless in there. We might have to throw in like Shavlik or somthing. No biggie.

I do really think Bayless would be a good player for us. I am not sure why we don't play him more.

yup no way we move bayless for a PG who has a huge knock on his defense.

also obviously we're not gonna pay jermaine 45 million to back up aldridge for 2 years. come on.

Good deal for Portland, terrible, terrible deal for Toronto. that would easily give Toronto the weakest, softest frontcourt in the history of the league.

Not too mention I think there's some law about having 3 spaniards on one team.

Calderon motivates ball and player movement much more than Blake, and while Toronto plays at a slow pace he is much better at feeding the break too. In addition he is EASILY as good of a shooter as Blake (and has been consistently) throughout his career. Blake is on a hot stretch now, AND is getting a lot of benefit of open looks fairly ungaurded.

O'neal would be fun again and probably a very good 15-20 mpg guy at PF behind Aldridge, we could bring over Freeland next year to replace him and bring in Koponen as the third PG.

We've also got a first rounder and four seconds to get some more prosects long term at PF and PG.

    2009
    Calderon/Sergio/Koponen
    Roy/Rudy
    Webster/Batum
    Aldridge/O'neal
    Oden/Pryzbilla/Freeland

    I like that a lot.

You know it's bad when trading away Jermaine O'Neal makes your front court even softer, but this trade has managed to do so.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
O'Neal had a really nice game today, but has been declining. I'm not that interested in acquiring him. I like Calderon, but he's basically a souped-up Sergio. I'm not willing to give up Bayless and Outlaw (and the RLEC) and take on O'Neal for that upgrade on Sergio. I'd rather make do with Sergio and Blake and wait to see what Bayless becomes, because he profiles as a great complement to this team.

But they will have the money this off-season to get a good PF or C, or make another trade.

Plus, Bosh is establishing himself as an MVP caliber player. He only needs some big man down there to rebound for him. O'Neal is overkill for them. Better then Ford was though.

They want to make some moves. They get a LOT in return. Plus Raefs money alone is worth at least Jermaine.

Wow.. Jermaine makes 23 mil next season. JO broke the bank at the right time I guess.

I don't think it's a terrible trade, talent alone, I'd do it. But making that big of a makeover at this time of the year, I'm not a big fan of. Let the cake bake.

Uh, you actually propose this and Raptors will laugh. How is this in any way a bad trade for the Blazers?

    Frye/pick for Bargnani?

Calderon would make our team better on the offensive end. He can also score and looks like he would be a nice fit next to Roy. The downside - He's atrocious on the defensive end. One of the worst at his position. His jumper and playmaking would be very valuable though.

Bargnani is a better shooter than Frye and would play the same role. They both rebound like little girls but Bargnani also drives into the paint.

Other than that, the Raptors don't really have anything worth typing.

Keep it simple and to our benefit:

    Frye and Raef for O'Neal
