The cap space has really helped. No one wants to sign for the minimum. The Kidd and RJ deals allowed the Nets to sign these guys.

And some of us thought he was the real brains behind ThronSki! Ouch.

shewman (or however you spell it) is the guy who does their power ratings and rookie rankings. He has no idea what he's talking about.

Green isn't horrible, and Thad Young has potential.

The Sixers have gotten a LOT of mileage out of second-round picks over the past few years, haven't they?

In terms of bargains, it's a very close call between Hayes and Dooling. Hayes may be the most consistent performer on the team behind Harris and Carter, but I'll never forget Dooling hitting clutch 3's against Sac-town like there was ice in his veins (I was just 20-30 feet away in the stands too!).

Without him, Nets wouldn't have gone 3-1 on the Western road trip, and thus likely wouldn't be as highly regarded as they are now.

Thad Young is a STARTER - and a damn good one. He would be by far the best SF on the Nets roster.

Willie Green sucks. He wouldn't crack the Nets' guard rotation.

The only other guy I like is Jason Smith, who is injured and a worse prospect than Yi. Maybe he's comparable to Ryan Anderson, but I wouldn't swap them.

His ass was on the line because they compromised the cap a bit to bring in players he wanted, like Dooling and Najera.

    I guess.

Najera will be here the life of his contract, because his salary declines every year. It's a great deal for the team.

They could have done the Stefanski thing and brought in chumps like Jamaal Magloire for one year, but they gave multi-year deals to actual, legitimate, useful players. A 35-year-old Najera on the last year of his contract might not be the greatest deal for the team. I think that's why Frank needed to produce this season. He got what he asked for.

BTW, it's funny how the ESPN talking heads and the national media have the exact opposite read on the situation than what is actually the case. Rick Kamla in the link above is much more informed than the average "analyst". (Maybe because he's talking to Schub?)

Speaking of that, are you the only NetsDaily staff member/regular contributor without a TV gig? What are you doing to rectify this?

Green is OK. And Young is a starter.

"Deal of the century for the Nets."?

Errr... Eddie Griffin for Richard Jefferson? Alonzo Mourning for Vince Carter? Marbury for Kidd?

We've had like, 4 deals of the century under Rod Thorn.

Michelle! I didn't mean it like that! Don't listen to him. I don't even know this goatee guy.

He is too crude for someone like you. On behalf of all Nets fans, let me make it up to you. You can record "Where's Michelle" from my house! I'll send you every date my wife and kids will be out of town.
