According to Ric Bucher on ESPN, Darko and Carlos Arroyo on their way to Orlando for Kelvin Cato and a first rounder.I like what Magic are doing youthwise, Darko, Arroyo, Nelson, Howard. Trade Francis for a young swingman, they look nice.Detroit seems to be freeing up for Ben's extension and getting a nice pick.

wow. I think that is kind of excessive for Orlando giving up a 1st for an unproven player like Darko and giving up a solid center in Cato. DOn't the Magic already have Francis, Jameer Nelson, Keyon Dooling and Travis Diener? I don't see how they need Arroyo. Good trade for Detroit. Questionable for Orlando.

I think if the trade goes, it's probably the end for Francis. Also, Darko seems like the perfect compliment to Howard in terms of his shooting ability. And is a top 5 pick himself, so giving up that pick is the same. I hear Cato will be bought out, so he could wind up back on Magic. Pistons only seem intent on the pick.

Come on. The guy has made 59 FG's in his career and his shooting percentage is 34%!

I have watched Darko play about a dozen times during garbage time and it's almost sad watching him...I feel bad for him, he doesn't know what to do, he's afraid to use his strength, he plays passive, when he goes inside he often misses rim and it looks god awful...you can see the frustration on his face, the opposing fans boo him, it's just sad that such a big time talent is being wasted like this. :no1:

The trade is going to go down, it's just the two teams are disagreeing on to what extent the lottery protection should be on the first round pick Orlando is giving up.

I agree, but Joe Dumars is a smart man. He declined the original proposal by Orlando (Cato for Arroyo and Darko). He then flew to Orlando with the team, and he sat and talked with Orlando's GM. He told them the only way he would consider the deal is if they included a first round pick.Dumars is a smart GM... nobody is going to rip him off. If anything, he'll rip other teams off.
