The guy played two games (scoring 8 and 6 points) this season and is currently team-less. Can anyone please explain why a 34 year old player who barely played this season and isn't on any team's roster (which will change once he joins Detroit soon, but still....) is on the ballot for the all-star game?

Because the talent throughout the rest of the league is so poor that he was the best alternative.

Because each team has to have a certain amount of representatives? That's my best bet...

Do the free agents count as a team? He doesn't even have a team next to his name on the ballot.

That's a fantastic question...I have no idea, lol.

Is he not back with Detroit yet? I thought he was resigning with them on the 12/3 or something like that...

Each team submits whom they want on the ballot. He was selected by the Pistons before the trade.

If that's the case then why isn't Udonis Haslem on the all star ballot?

I'd guess he was left out for Wade, Beasley and Marion... I can understand the case for each.

Increases Marion's value, increases Beasley's exposure... and Wade is Wade, people do get left out.

And speaking of McDyess...I just saw on ESPN that he was resigned, so at least he has a team now.

Damnit he got signed. I was hoping to see a three-team game for the ASG. East vs. FA vs. West.

    Try figuring THAT court out.
