    KC's Blog says:
My first reaction is surprise that the Bulls run plays that anyone would need to remember. They've got
    1. The Rose Iso
    2. The Gordon Iso
    3. The Hughes Iso
    4. The Everyone standing around set
    5. The Everyone standing around set except for the guy running a half-assed screen

OK, maybe there's a little more than that, but really... :dunno:

From a blog 2 weeks ago:

And Noah, who didn't get off the bench against Golden State, will start and draw Kenyon Martin.

Noah's assignment drew a humorous exchange between the second-year big man, reporters and coach Vinny Del Negro. While reporters interviewed Noah as he walked to the team bus, Del Negro, who was walking steps ahead, started answering questions for Noah.

    Here's the exchange:

Reporter: "When you go from not playing to starting, how do you try to approach that and what do you try to bring?"

Noah: "I just try to ..."

    Del Negro: "Bring energy."

    Noah: "And what else, coach?"

    Del Negro: "Bring effort."

    Noah: "Bring effort."

    Del Negro: "Understand the plays."

Noah: "Understand the plays. What else?"

    Del Negro: "Defensive rotations."

    Noah: "That's about it."

Indeed it is. Del Negro said the altitude here will affect his substitution pattern.

I really hate to give up on the guy, I'm starting to be afraid he doesn't give a shit.

There may be similar exchanges with Del Harris prompting VDN what to say.

Omer Asik will replace him in 2010. 3.1 million more available in 2010 is all this is. We just need to find a taker for Hinrich/Nocioni, and we're set. Noah's money will go to Asik, as we don't pick up Noah's option for 2010-2011.

And we drafted this guy over Spencer Hawes why?

I've hated him since he was in college, I hated the drafting of him, and I still hate him to this day. He's an absolute black hole on offense and his defense isn't even that great. Who gives a shit if he brings energy. Go bring energy elsewhere. I want someone who can actually do something on the court and actually knows what the hell is going on.

Since when do dumb, unskilled, energy players get drafted in the lotto?

Since John Paxson is running your team and thinks it sounds like a good idea?

I was wondering when somebody was going to bring up Spencer Hawes. He's looking a lot better now, isn't he...

I wanted Spencer Hawes from the get go. I'm pretty sure if you sift through threads in here, you'll find numerous posts of mine saying we should draft Hawes.

I have always hated Noah. He's got no offensive skills whatsoever and his defense is overrated. I don't care that he brings energy to this team, he's useless. I'd trade him for a 2nd round pick at this point.

Joakim Noah = biggest waste of a lottery pick this decade by any team.

Noah was pretty effective last season. I was presently surprised.

But when the energy player doesn't have much energy anymore, you're in real trouble.

That and he's just so plum inept with the basketball. There was an exchange last night when Noah got the ball in the post but was pretty far out. He tried to clumsily back his man down, offered a series a strange gyrations and then Deng (i believe) just took the ball away from him and went to the hoop. Where amazing happens?

He appears to have studied Ben Wallace's game pretty closely.

Drafting Noah was only a good idea in light of moving Wallace since their games are so similar, and I'm not convinced that was the plan from the beginning. But even Wallace is outplaying Noah right now, and Wallace has been dead for a year and a half.

This guy was screaming bust. I remember watching him in college and all the announcers drooling over him...what a joke. I thought this guy would be a schmuck at the NBA level and so far I am dead on. Frickin sideshow Bob moron

Well, in fairness it was forseeable that Wallace would have to be replaced at some point, I think the Bulls were just hoping to get last year and this year out of him before he fell apart. In that case, Noah's inconsistency would have been more forgiveable since he'd be playing 15 minutes a game ideally.

But yeah... at this point its not looking good.

I'll say this, Noah actually did work on his strength this Summer. His arms are noticeably more defined, for example. Unfortunately that appears to have come at the expense of his lungs. And any semblence of a shot he had. And well, pretty much everything else.

Still, I don't think I want to give up on him. He's reminding me a lot of Chandler the year Chandler bulked up (and signed his contract). Part of it was Chandler hitting weights and doing very little conditioning. He got noticeably stronger, but similarly worse at everything else. Part of it was he just got out of basketball shape. Over time and with the right environment he got it back. I think Noah can as well, and we've got plenty of time left on his rookie deal (which goes thru the important 2010 season) to let it happen .
