Oh my goodness, get off your high horse for one minute and understand me....I'm not saying ONLY CHINESE people are voting but that with out the ethnic support he wouldn't be in consideration for an All-Star slot. Wow, dude....I'm not preaching thier word or even agreeing with everything....only that it would be wrong for Yi to start in an All-Star game over proven players. Wow....either your part of the "Bradjolena Humanitarian Support Program" or you really just live in a fantasy word were only your words and thoughts count...lol.

As for your evidence...it doesn't prove that more asians haven't voted either...so in context....your evidence doesn't seem to contradict my claims either, nor do thier prove I'm false.

I wouldn't consider myself a parrot for happening to agree that Yi doesn't deserve to start in an All-Star game....and if in your eyes this makes me a parrot...then squak, squak!!! But I'm sure their are plenty more in the flock!

This thread and article is hilarious... in the end its all about fans and writers scared to crap that some sophomore is more popular than KG. Thats what its about folks. All-star voting is a popularity contest. If you like the guy then of course you're going to vote for him. Theres nothing wrong with that.

Deserve? Who said anything about deserve? I think if you had a poll of whether yi deserves to be an all star or not you'll almost get universal agreement that he doesn't.

The article you parroted from implied that China is going to get into the all star game because 200 million fans in China are going to vote for him or something to that effect.

I am about as anti Yi being an all star as you can get until he becomes a 20/10 player or at least something real close, say 20/9. However there is just too much garbage that gets written about him and the all star voting without any concrete proof. I mean if Yi is leading all forward voting after Thursday's first return of ballot, then fine. Go off about how he doesn't deserve it and how it's wrong for the Chinese to vote for their own kind etc Until then I just don't understand the fascination people have with jumping to conclusion one way or another. Yao was a first for Chinese and even ethnic Chinese basketball fans around the world. Since then the popularity of the NBA has grown tremendously in China. They have become a lot more knowledgeable about the game and the players. So it's no longer simply about voting for one of their own rather than their favorite player, which just happens to be the likes of Kobe and Lebron. If they want to vote for one of their own, they can always vote for Yao Ming who would be deservant. Why would they need to vote for Yi? Outside of his home province of Guangdong, Yi actually isn't all that popular. Last year one of the Chinese basketball site conducted a poll asking whether fans would vote for Yi and more than 75% said no. So don't just go assuming that because there is 200 million basketball fans in China therefore Yi is going get 200 million votes. That's just plain ignorant.

As for more parrots in the flock, I am sure they are everywhere bro. You actually don't need to look very hard to find them.

As for KG being an all star starter. Is he more deservant than say Chris Bosh. Chris Bosh is averaging 25.7 ppg and 10.1 rpg. Why should KG who is averaging 16.4 ppg and 9.4 rpg start ahead of Chris Bosh? The truth is the coaches and players should be the only people voting for the all stars. That's my opinion and final say in this thread.

I agree with you on that....Bosh definitly deserves to be starting over KG this year...but you can't bank too much on stats when KG plays on a team that doesn't require him to put up high numbers...but with that said...as much as I'm a KG fan....even I voted for Bosh to start over KG

Magloire actually deserved his spot way back then...the drop in his performance since has been unbelievable.

Jamaal Magloire really was the Big Cat back the day (single year). He was deserving, as was Martin.

I've always found this "scare" to be hilarious.

I mean, here we are, trying to show China that "one person, one vote" is what makes democracy such a great system...

And then all of a sudden there are people freaking out because somebody decides to vote for someone else :)
