Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade Yea that's interesting to look at. Richardson has had some years where he scored more points per game than this year, but those years were on a Don Nelson, up tempo high game pace team that inflates statistical output. IMO, Richardson is having his best year this year, as he has been more consistent than he has in the past.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade no. in fact their giving up future flexibility because with option diaw runs a year longer than j-rich.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade The only season he played under Don Nelson was 06-07 when he was injured for 30 games and averaged 16 ppg- his lowest average since his second season in the league. Every other season came under coaches who preach the slow paced, half court game (Mike Montgomery, Musselman, Winters, Sam Vincent, this year LB).
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade OH MY GOD dude are you serious? Man. [stop crying] This trade makes no damn sense. And Dudley is a SF not a PF hasoos
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade Hmmm... that's true, but JRich makes more in two seasons than Diaw does in three. An odd, odd trade, in any case, for the Bobcats. Ed O.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade I haven't read all of the posts in this thread, but I live in Tempe and was listening to the local talker (620 AM, KTAR). They will have Kerr on shortly to discuss the trade. The word is Bell had become a cancer because he did not like TP's new system. They clear him, and Diaw's horrible contract for Richardson, who is owed Diaw money, but for only two years. The Suns say they will now sign a free agent vet PG. They are also saying that the Suns do want to trade Amare if a good deal comes along if they can not get him signed to an extension. He can opt out after next season like LeBron, Wade, Bosh and the others. They still bring up Portland as a possible destination for Amare, but only because Portland has so much young talent and draft picks. They just really bag on Amare now because he does not defend or rebound. He wants to be the number one option, but only plays offense.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade Dudley has started at the power forward spot for much of the year for the Bobcats. Ed O.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade Intersting . . . thanks for the insight. Do you think the Suns make the playoffs this year? Does the community consider them a bubble team to make the playoffs or more of a solid playoff team with hopes of contending? Amare doesn't like to defend or rebound . . . does not sound like a Nate guy.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade Hold on just a minute... it's not that easy. We've got Blazer fans jumping on the bandwagon faster than we can expand it! And you know it's not easy to build right now given the fact that Keith Brown just went out of business and no one can get any credit to buy building materials. There is an approval process to go through and you don't have the best reputation. Plus you frequently hang out with Laker fans and that just makes us question your decision making skills. It's like being on parole and hanging out with other felons... not a smart thing to do.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade Right after I decide stab my genitals with a rusty spoon...you know, since that sounds way more appealing Seriously, dead seriously...Fuck the Celtics
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade EVERYBODY down here is extremely affraid of Portland. They think that Portland is legit this year just as the Hornets made a big leap last year. The local guys always talk about how scarry Portland will be after the all star break. They also know about RLEC and what can be done with that. Now that the first couple of trades have been made this could be the beginning of many trades with teams positioning for the free agents of 2010. I think the Suns are still a bubble team. I think Dallas will be a bubble team as well. Houston is fighting injuries as is Utah. It really is to soon to get a feel for where teams will end up. The local guys do mention that Portland is just a Roy injury away from the lotto. And I do not think that Amare is any where worth what his asking price will be. He is a more athletic Zach Randolph, but Randolph is a far better rebounder. Amare also has a posse and they always talk about his very low bball IQ. Kerr is on now.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade Who's the best player in this trade? Richardson. I love the Diaw of a couple years ago, but he just hasn't played the same well. Bell is good, but he is not nearly the offensive threat that Richardson is. Nash/Richardson/Barnes/Amare/Shaq is one of, if not the best all around starting lineup in the league. Add Barbosa and Hill off the bench, and they are a solid big man (P.J. Brown? McDyess?) away from turning this season around. Richardson is nothing to sneeze at.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade No, Larry Brown was trying to play him at SF. Dudley was a PF in college, and he has a PF type of game. Larry Brown might have been playing him at SF, but that, does not make him a SF. Just like how PJ Carlesimo played Kevin Durant at SG until he got fired. That doesn't make Kevin Durant a shooting guard. It makes him a player playing out of position.
Re: OT: PHX/CHA trade figuring all the trade pieces and 3/4 season left this year the bobcats are taking on an extra 5 mil or so.
