So the Lakers should win this. First and foremost, Shaq isn't going to be there, which means Bynum, Gasol and Odom should have a field day against their frontcourt. Secondly, they could be playing short handed. Bell, Diaw and Singletary were reportedly traded to the 'Cats, and if that's true, I doubt any of those three will be available tonight. This should be a (relatively) easy win for us tonight.
Yeah well that's disappointing... I can't believe Shaq is sitting out. What a pussy. Quite honestly I could care less about today. Should be an easy win, but who knows with this team. I'm looking forward to facing a team that can actually challenge us and make us play hard, so I can see our true colors. Guess that won't happen today.
Oh wow... My bad. I thought it was the "play one game, miss the next" type of thing he has going in Phoenix. That's unfortunate to hear... I wish him the best.
It's all good. Plus, if it was for the whole not playing in the 2nd of back to backs, it's not like that's his choice. That's in the hands of the coaching staff, and the whole point of it is to keep him fresh and healthy, which makes sense considering how frail he's been recently.
I want a statement game. I'm not gonna sit here and say we will own Phoenix or anything like that, I'm done with that. They need to go out there, go up by 20, then by 30, and by 40, and by 50. Not saying that they will get that high of a lead, but they need to play like they are always behind, not that they can slow down cause of their lead cushion. Play to increase the lead. I want energy out there tonight on defense, I want to hold Amare to under 15 and Nash to a bunch of turnovers. Let's go.
This is impossible of being a statement game This game is like getting in a fight with a girl. If you win, you were supposed to. If you lose, whoppee you just beat up a girl. Just win this game with no injuries edit: I meant if you lose to a girl you get ridiculed ...whoops
Well I basically thought the same thing about Sacramento, but we saw how that went. When I said statement, I meant for us to come out there and effectively end the game in the first half. I want the statement to be in our energy and our defensive play, not the whole beating up on a good team thing, which I didn't think Phoenix was before the trade/missing people.
luke walton will start http://www.latimes.com/sports/basketball/nba/lakers/la-sp-lakers11-2008dec11,0,35763.story
Luke actually doesn't look too bad. He had a nice block at the start of the game, made some nice passes, etc. Our defense looks terrible once again. We can't even contain a team missing half of its starters. Kobe looks like he has looked all season, pretty bad. Defense is bad. Luke is the only one who has made a play defensively
Embarrassing. We can't even defend a bunch of scrubs. Pretty much half the Suns active roster is gone and we still can't stop anyone. We're only up by 5, it should be a blowout at this point. Kobe has looked like absolute SHIT. No offense or anything, but I'm just speaking my mind. His play this year has been extremely disappointing, and today is no different. Whatever happened to his defense? Because just like the rest of the team, he doesn't play any. Offensively, he's absolutely terrible. He ruins the flow of the offense with all his chucking, which he doesn't even make. The best we looked today was when Kobe was on the bench. Lamar is Lamar as usual, brain dead. Just a disappointing effort everywhere. The only bright spot is Luke, who is actually playing pretty well as a starter.
Depleted Suns go on a run because we can't play defense Luke misses a three like always Kobe misses a three like always 1 point game
I'm having a heart attack. This is not good for my blood pressure. I will destroy something if we lose this fucking game.
Well looks like we won... Not that I'm impressed or anything. Guess who we have on Friday? Oh yay! Sacramento again! Hey maybe we will actually beat them for once! Wake me up when we actually face a tough team. That's the only way to measure this squad since it's obvious we play with no effort against teams inferior to us. Or maybe we're just that bad!
We gave up 110 points to a Suns team without Shaq, Diaw, and Bell. Changes need to be made because we're not winning shit with this defense.
