well I don't think that's the reason they're tougher....I mean Kobe has been one of the more outspoken players of our time when it comes to chewing out teammates, lol...............I just think the lakers need another "tough" attitude and physical presence on their squad. As far as mental toughness I'd say Kobe and Fisher have it....I'm not so sure about the rest of guys though. I really liked Ronny Turiaf for you guys.....did he just want too much money???
KG is a big part of that but you gotta remember about the assistant Thibodeau. (probably one of the best defensive minds in the league currently)
although KG can be mentally weak in the crunch, and weak on the blocks when posting up his man, I can't deny the effort he brings every night (eventhough I think he goes overboard with it at times).........
thibodeau will be a head coach some day....he was a good assistant for the rockets as well..........even got Lazy McGrady to play defense.....
He was a restricted FA....GS offered him a slightly inflated contract (4.2mil/year) that we had a chance to match...It didnt make sense to sign him to 3 years at that price with the other bigs we had. Good for him for getting paid, he deserves it. Josh Powell is the guy we signed to replace him. He is barley getting anything except garbage minutes but every time he goes out there he makes stuff happen on both sides of the court. He want more minutes and I dont blame him.
lol Ronny Turiaf isn't missed. From the limited minutes Powell has played this year, I think we have a more than capable replacement. Even if Turiaf was signed, he probably would have played a total of 10 minutes this season. Glad to see him finding a niche with the Warriors though, he's a pretty cool guy, but this team has not missed him at all.
