Carter had 1 dunk with 45 seconds to go in the last 6 minutes of the 4th QTR. 0 shots basically. Explain.
Devin Harris is turning into the Richard Jefferson of last year. Doing great #s but taking away the leadership role from Carter, and tonight was a big red flag. I find the team should run the offense through vince carter and not Yi or Stromile. Apparently, the Nets thought otherwise tonight. As vince goes, so goes the Nets. He needs the ball more and harris needs to take less shots and look to get Vince going. That being said, this is the problem with vince. he is okay not being the guy. he always needs someone to come to him and ask him. he wont step on peoples toes. thats why kidd got pissed at him probably.
I'm seeing Devin Harris and getting flash backs of a number 33 point guard who was score happy and that didnt work out well
VC and Devin need to be taking the same amount of shots. Period. You can't have Vince going 58% from the field (3-5 from 3 pt range) and only taking 12 shots.
The Nets wouldn't be where they are if Devin didn't take his shots. I do agree that Vince needs the ball more, and its true that he doesn't demand the ball.
Did Vince do anything to help us beat sub-par teams when Devin was out? He did nothing. He had all the chances in the world and he did nothing. I have not seen anything spectacular of Vince since he dunked on his old team. Time to let Devin take over. When the game is on the line, I'd much rather have Devin drive to the basket and draw fouls. He's becoming a true leader who has the intuition to make plays that will win the game.
In crunch time, i still depend on VC alot more and i'd rather have him drive to the basket partly because of the size.
LOL I think hes way ahead of you. Get vince outta here if hes playing like crap. you probably wouldnt notice since hes not effecting games.
I agree with a lot of what you said. I'm a big Vince fan just like yourself but we're not blind, we can see his flaws. I would have to agree with a post that The Joker made a few days ago about why Kidd and Vince weren't fit to play together. What he said was actually quite true. Kidd wanted Vince to score 27-30 points every night but Vince on the other hand didn't want that. Vince is more of a person who wants to play a team game and have other players scoring as well. As evidenced from last year, he allowed RJ to take a bigger role than himself in the offense and the same is happening now with Harris. The other thing is, Vince needs to realize that he can't just be a vocal leader, he needs to lead on the court by his play. His last few games have been an example of how his play has been slipping on the court and we know he's capable of doing more as he showed during the start of this season until just recently.
That's easy.....2 words, "Devin.....Harris". This is VC's Team, he should be averaging 27 pts a game, I think Devin's getting trigger happy.
Oh come on...if Harrington and Thomas hadn't caught fire, the Nets would have won and you would all be praising Harris for dominating the game. Either don't overreact or don't praise him like he's a god when the Nets win.
How ironic....cats around here seem to overreact with Yi's defense, like Yi is the only inconsistent softie on this team (on 'D' that is)
Not Harris' fault, it's Frank's fault. He never had a game plan for B Lopez to dominate vs this small Knicks team. instead Frank though our small 2nd unit can beat the Knicks.
