I do, but it seems like the cool thing to go against rules. So I bet this thread has the majority saying this dress code sucks.
I think it's a good thing. However, this thread is like six months late... why the hell are we bringing it up now?
Seems like <Censored> to me. What would they do if the players always dressed up ingay <Censored> tight attire. They wouldnt have come up with this <Censored>. This is more like the CNBA than the NBA.
Simple answer to this is why do NBA players get special treatment in dress over anyone else. IF they were Plumbers or Lawyers or Bus Drivers, they would have to follow what ever dress code their employer said. I feel no sympathy for a guy who makes average over a million dollars, travels first class, and has to wear what some places call Casual Friday. And for anyone who cries racism, shut up. Both blacks and whites were guilty in the past of just wearing whatever they wanted. All players wanted to be like Mike growing up, why cant they dress like him too??
All players wanted to be like mike? lets see some proof. I wanna know who shaq wanted to be when he was growing up, hey what about yao... Tim duncan sure wanted to be like mike tooo. Don't ever say that. He aint that innocent of a guy. Catholic National Basketball Association thats what it is. I don't really care much about the issue but yall brought up so i had sometin to say. Race? lol u keep thinking that.
All these new kids coming into the NBA loved Michael Jordan...their is a reason when Jordan visits HS camps that the kids get giddy and freak out. Everyone wants to be Mike.
I completely agree with the dress code. The NBA isn't just a game, it is a bussiness. The players and staff need to be proffesional about the way they conduct themselves out there. I think dressing up like that is a good idea and it is proffesional.
I agree with the dress code. I think it makes the league more professional. The NBA is not just about basketball, it's also about business.
It is for the best. It makes the NBA look proffessional. Its not like they can't afford a suit. Just about every other job in the world has a dress code like this. The players complained about it at first but they have followed it and haven't complained about it.
As long as NBA Players don't do stupid things off the court, the league will continue to look more and more professionalAnd as I've said, whether you want to dress up or not: You get paid great salarys for playing basketball, tough it out
Kind of interesting, I was thinking about this last night watching the Rookie Game..Not sure if it counts, but there were definatly numerous players in violation of the dress code last night, namely Iverson. I found it to be kind of interesting because Shaq, Kobe, and LeBron were still wearing the "bussiness atire", so I assumed it was included in the dress code..

Maybe becuase they were there as fans, AI thought that he didn't have to dress up, I am not sure, if you go as a fan do you have to dress up or not?

I know what you mean though, I would have said they had to dress up, but because they went as fans and not on bussiness, I don't know.Does anyone know the rules for this occasion?
