I think Luke Ridnour is getting votes from China because Yi was with the Bucks last season, and i guess the Chinese people love Luke.

lol, I hope Yi doesn't make the all star game. It's just embarrassing, at least I would be. well, if he does make it, it might not be a bad thing. it might give him some extra motivation to do better to make sure he would deserve it a few years down the line.

Wow...Yi in 3rd place? Lets hope to god he stays there, because I would be disgusted if he made the AS game because of his race. The guy isn't even remotely deserving.

I'm also appalled by the amount of votes AI is getting. He's playing like hot garbage this year and hasn't dropped 20 points in what, 9 games? He hardly deserves to be an AS this year, he'll only get there because the casual fan knows his name.

Funny one, love your sarcasm. Lets play the 6 degree of Yi.

Oh, I also voted for Yi today. I wanted to see Garnett bumped off.

If Yi was black....would it still disgust you? Of course he doesn't deserve this year, unless he turns it around and pulls his average up to at least 16 ppg, 7 rpg, 45% fgp by the time the All-Star break starts.

If Yi was black, Chinese people wouldn't be able to tell him apart. All the votes would go to Ridnour.

    Chinese fans are stupid.

Yes. If a player gets voted on the team because of ANY race, it's a disgrace to the game. And 16/7 on 45% shooting aren't all star numbers.

Oh really....that's funny....cause some certain guy from the Lakers averaged 15 ppg, 3 rebounds and shot 42% from the field....and he still made the 1998 All-Star team....but nobody was bitching about how UNFAIR it was.

    *Cough*

    "Hypocrites"

i agree, people who are outraged by Yi should also be outraged at AI being voted in right now as well.

both undeserving, no matter what race they are.

I think we can excuse people for being wayyy more outraged by Yi being third among forwards than Iverson being second. I mean the former is far more of a disgrace than the latter (even though AI clearly shouldn't be getting that many votes).

agreed, yi is more of an outrage.

but i feel it's hypocritical to go "oh china fans don't know what they're doing" when us american fans are doing the same thing (voting in players we like and want to see in the all star game instead of those who deserve it). either way, i think NBA fans have proven that they are undeserving of the privelage to vote all star players.

I can't say I'm too shocked to see the players who are in first.

As well as he was playing, there is little to no chance Devin was going to get voted to be a starter.

I hope Yi doesn't get voted in. He's going to get so much grief for that.

It's ridiculous that Gilbert is getting any votes. I was hoping that somehow Marbury would have cracked into that top group though, that'd be hysterical.

I agree for the most part. But I think the frustration with Chinese fans is over the fact that they're voting with a specific local motivation that completely undermines the All Star game. You don't really see that with Americans (you see it with other countries, but its nowhere near as strong).

The Iverson votes are more indicative of a problem with the entire NBA fanbase: people across all countries still stupidly buy into the AI hype.
