There is a stipulation in all MLB players contracts that a player traded during a long term deal can opt out as a FA the following year. Any team that trades for Peavy will want/have to talk to him to secure him beyond that opt out. Like with CC, the Yankees have the money to blow Peavy away. Yes, Cashman will have to trade a young gun or 2, maybe a prospect/positional player... but the best thing next to a 1-2 of Santana/CC would be a CC/Peavy combo with 'available' players over the past 2 years. Also yes it's nice to have young arms, but lets not forget that CC, Peavy and Joba aren't exactly over 30, or near it. -Petey
