A lot of it may just be casual fans who vote for who they have heard of before, and not who is playing the best this season.

I've said it before. Iverson is entertaining, Yi doesn't even come close. He doesn't deserve to be in the all-star game either, but I don't have a problem with him being in it for 10-15 minutes because he'll give you some fancy dribbling and alleyoops and that's what the all-star game is for nowadays. Iverson's votes don't come 100% from Detroit fans and African Americans, so you can't compare him to Yi.

I wasn't following the NBA back then so I can't tell whether people were bitching or not or why Kobe was voted in. But Kobe didn't put up all-star numbers that year, that's for sure.

People need to stop voting for Yi full stop but the results were pretty much as I expected. Lebron leading the way and KG in 2nd place. There's none of this Yi getting 200 chinese million votes and is miles ahead of Lebron and KG as a certain parrot alluded to.

Totally agreed. It's just not worth it for the blacklash he is going to recieve for the 5 - 10 minutes of playing time he is going to receive. So people who are voting for him need to stop it.

Here is why Stern and company don't care who gets voted in. The more people who vote means the more hits the nba website gets, which means the more dollar revenue they can charge for ads. Its all about the money, always has and always will be. Welcome to capitalism our new china friends.....

The only votes that matter are the starters, and those are pretty good outside of Iverson.

lol...you just won't let it die, huh? I never once said he would get 200 million votes, but that it would be a shame for him to start on All-Star weekend...you can do your lil childish name calling all you want, but I'd thank you to never put words into my mouth...cool? Thanks?

But anywho...I am dubbing a new nickname: Yi Sanjia-lian in memory of all the people who voted for Sanjia on American Idol, just to piss people off....like this situation....he was someone that had no business being on that show as long as he did...but people kept voting anyway....lol

Wow, we agree for real. All-Star game is meaningless and a tool to generate NBA revenue.

yup, it is that way, huh...I would say to do something in the lines of baseball....but then the whole voting process would be rearranged.

lol....good one. Makes you wonder if it worked in reverse.....no player from Spain would ever get into an All-Star game again, after the poster they did in the Olympics....lol

Not really. I don't think mainland Chinese care much about racism. It bothers more Asian Americans. Spain have really good Ballers.

Nets fan should be happy Yi is getting some love. At least that's one player getting votes in this popularity contest. Don't hate on your own teammate.
