He's a smart player, hustles, and is one of our better defenders. I don't really mind him being on the team, but he doesn't do to much to help the team, but I like having him around. Alot of people think he has a real bad contract, but I don't think it's to bad. Just three million a year, the thing is it's over five years. Something that I have wondered about all year is, will he be here in five years? I just can't picture him being part of the team for five seasons, but who knows.

Yea, lately Gomes has been the much better player. Scalabrine is a more consistent player then Gomes right now, but once Gomes matures and becomes an every day starter, he will be the better player.

More consistent? In the 3 games Gomes has gotten any time, he's put up:4 points, 9 rebounds, 4 offensive rebounds14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 offensive rebounds, 2 steals14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 offensive rebounds. He would have gone for more tonight, but he fouled out. Scabs season-high is what, 9 points? Gomes outdid that in his second career start. Scalabrine is worthless! Did you see him tonight?!?! 1-5, 2 TOs, and 4 fouls! Including the worst/dumbest play i've ever seen. He tries to make a backdoor pass to Pierce with Snow smothering him, IN 2-OT!! That cost us the game, IMO.Scalabrine is good for nothing except for entertainment for the other team's fans.

I'm not saying that Scalabrine is more talented, but I think you know what your getting from him night in and night out. Ryan Gomes plays well when he starts, but never really has played well coming off the bench. I don't think Brian is more talented than Ryan by any means, but I don't think he's a complete waste. He's good for buying minute while the starters sit. When he goes in, you know he's going to give it his all. He is a nice defender, and a nice energy guy. I most certaintly don't mind him on the team.

Well, I'm just glad we're paying him $15 mil over the next 5 years so he can give the starters a breather.. [IMG]

C'mon, he's sluggish, has no real talent, I mean he hustles? what the hell does that mean....everyone hustles, it's the NBA. They wouldn't have got there if they didn't work hard. Scalabrine is an NBA journeyman who will ride out his horrific contract with the Celtics and then we'll never hear from him again. He sucks, end of story.

I agree, except Scabs really isn't a "journeyman". The Cs are his 2nd team, and he left NJ by choice. But yes, he does suck, terribly.
