I guess perhaps Rudy needs to start at the 3, or even bring Outlaw back, but Batum is lost right now. He's a role player at this point and is a net negative on the floor. He has 5 points and 8 rebound TOTAL over the last 6 games. Why is he still starting?
Agreed. The only problem is that means starting TO, who's not exactly setting the world on fire himself. I'm still holding out hope for a trade so we can have a legit starting SF. Then again I say that every year and we are still stuck with the same group of low IQ swingmen at the position.
Subjective. The numbers don't show this over the last week and a half. Batum is regressing, and he may even be impacting Oden's growth with his poor play.
I don't know... I think we might just have to wait another four weeks for Martell. I can't see us trading anyone right now, or I can't see KP panicking and making a trade.
do you honestly think batum has a low b-ball IQ? travis outlaw does, if you cant see the difference between batum and outlaw, i'm not sure what your watching
Batum is not deserving of any PT based on his recent play. I forgot to mention his 20% FG shooting from both 2 and 3 over this stretch.
I'm just saying that the "basketball IQ" line of reasoning is subjective. Can I also say that Batum sucks ass recently in real world terms?
I very much want Batum to become the long-term starter for the team. But.... he's not ready now. Webster's 2nd injury starting to hurt the team.
Our SF rotation flat out sucks right now. Batum was playing solid basketball, but he's hit that rookie wall pretty severely. Travis.... well, KP needs to find a legit starting SF. It's that simple.
Shows how idiotic the +/- stat is on a game by game basis. Besides, I was posting about the last six games. The games where Batum has 5 points total and 8 rebounds. I think he'll become a good player, but he is hurting the team right now with his play.
Maybe it's time to start the game with Roy at the 3 and Bayless at the 2. We lose some rebounding and defense against big small-forwards - but we improve PG defense and taking the ball hard to the rim.
Well, seriously, if they are going to throw in a guy who had trouble playing in France, why not throw in a guy who dominated the Pac 10 offensively? Good point.
