To anyone that said he didn't deserve to be an all-star, Just look at how he has been playing recently and say that again. He's scored atleast 30 in his last 5, including FIFTY tonight. He's a superstar, I don't care who says otherwise.
As Tommy was saying in the post game, he is one of the greatest Celtics ever. He plays with a passion, and is sure one heck of a player. He is one of those guys you just can't hate, because of everything he has done for us. If there is ever a day where Pierce get dealt away from Boston (which I doubt there will be), we will all be missing him very much.
Paul Pierce is playing better, his shooting percentages are up, he's a great player, anyone that thinks he isn't a all-star player is an idiot.
I thought this was gonna be about a trade. Do any of you fans think Pierce retires a Celtic? Also, is that yungai on your avatar BCB?

Yeah Pierce loves being in Boston, I haven't heard many people talk sh*t about Pierce, if they do they simply don't know their basketball. This is the same guy who got stabbed in the face, neck, and back in September of 2000 and came back that season like nothing had ever happened. This guy is a warrior, night after night he's busting his <Censored> and just because he's not on every television AD people forget how good he is. Pierce is the man, I hope he retires as a Celtic, he's the kind of guy any team in the NBA would love to have.
I don't think anyone has ever doubted Pierce. He has just fell into the background to guys like Kobe, Lebron and T Mac.
watching him and lebron go at it last night was amazing...LBJ jus has the better team built around him!

That kind of made me mad.
There were also people saying that Gilbert Arenas deserved a spot over Pierce. That was just not right, Pierce is the better player, and far more deserving of the spot.

First off, completely disregard fan voting. There are tons of fans who are idiots and vote for guys like Yao Ming for All-Star each year - it's a popularity contest and they don't know better. I think Arenas deserved to go, but I also think Pierce deserved it too, and this is not simply Boston homerism talking. People have ripped Pierce the last few years saying he wasn't the top 5-10 NBA player he once was after he took Boston to the ECF in 2001-2002. Look at his stats this season, they're very efficient and very good compared to most players. The only knock against Pierce is that his team sucks. But I always think: where would the Boston Celtics be without Pierce? And I cry. :no3:
Is he a great player? Yes, should he be an all-star over Kidd, Redd (and Arenas, if he wasnt chosen as a replacement)? No. I think he has put up great numbers and carried that team, but the fact is the team is not performing well in the standings and I believe there are others who are more deservant..I think he is more deservant than Rasheed, but I would rank him behind Kidd, Redd and Arenas in terms of whether or not he should be on the all-star team..

Here is what I think the East team should have looked like:IversonWadeLeBron O'Neal*Shaq---BillupsCarterHamiltonArenasBoshWallaceKidd* (O'Neal replacement)Redd---PierceHowardRJWallace
