We live and die by the jumpshots. Tonight we died. Anyone notice how many easy baskets utah gets? anyone notice how hard it is for us to get any points in the paint? Thats the difference. Im sure scouts basically say, get physical inside with them..strip oden and make them take tough jumpers. Since the celtic game...we are 1-3 with a 1 point win over a team it took a miracle 3 to beat. really we should be 0-4. celtics exposed us or did they? we wer eplayting poorly against the knicks and wiz but they both sucked so nobody cared. the fact of the matter is... we better make adjustmenst cause the league has adjusted to us.
wait what? we won on a miracle three? blakes three in toronto was a miracle? more like hedos was a miracle
Exactly. If you take away Blake's three, then you better take away Hedo's three, and we're still 1-3.
We don't have a low post threat. Our only threat is Brandon Roy. LaMarcus drifts to the perimeter and only takes it to the paint a few times a game. A player like Amare, for example, would make us a lot better because he would provide a legit post threat. On top of that, Amare can also hit the mid-range jumper if/when Greg ever gets it together.
I see good things from LaMarcus. He needs to call for the ball more, but when he is going good he is awesome.
which is why we need a trade asap for a sf. outlaw can be part of the trade. he doesnt fit on this team at all.
We just haven't been making good adjustments when teams change up their defenses on us. Against Orlando, it was them running out on Brandon in the final two minutes. Against Utah, the TNT guys mentioned how the Jazz sent their guys immediately when LaMarcus put the ball on the floor. And we didn't make any adjustments to it. Oh well... you can tell teams have scouted us and have started to change it up against us. And now it's our turn to find out what we can do to counter that.
Portland lost one game it "shouldn't" have...against Orlando at home. The Celtics in Boston was going to be a loss. They are probably the best team in basketball right now and were at home. The Jazz in Utah wasn't a sure loss, but it was a game Utah "should" have won. If we assume Portland is in the tier of teams below Boston, LAL and Cleveland, then Portland should beat Toronto and Orlando at home. They did beat Toronto and lost to Orlando in a rather unlikely fashion. So, the difference between the current doomsday feeling and still being right where we hoped the team was, is one bad stretch of 1:40. Colour me unimpressed with the idea that Portland has been "exposed."
