125 things broken? That's an understatement.

Let's pay more for govt. and have 250 things broken next!

The whole bail out thing for the auto makers is rather indicative of the problem with govt. Why are they throwing a $trillion at Wall Street, banks, insurance companies, and the likes without strings and putting all kinds of conditions on a rather trivial $14B amount to the big 3?

The bigger question is why we trust govt. to provide oversight on what should be privately held and run companies (ok, shareholders make them publicly held, but not taxpayer owned).

The answer is sortof obvious. C O N T R O L. Fascist left wing agenda. And yeah, you can put Bush in that category along with those who control congress.

There has been a documented material systemic breakdown at many of the government's major departments and agencies, and your response is that it is the result of a "fascist left wing agenda"?! Agencies are repeatedly not fulfilling their mission; they are not engaging in an open and transparent decision-making process; and there is rampant mismanagement, waste, and even (in some instances) fraud. Those appointed to run these government agencies do not appear to support the agency's mission. There are multiple examples of government agencies siding with (and giving breaks to) to companies they are tasked with regulating, and ignoring their duty to protect the needs and interests of the populace. Even refusing to enforce the relevant laws and regulations.

Of course, I've been talking about this for months--in fact, I have said that this was the primary reason I could not vote republican in this election--but when put into one document, the list is eye-opening.

This is the Bush legacy, as far as I am concerned. A history of mismanagement, waste, fraud, and corruption--not at the WH, but at the individual agencies and departments. The losers in all of is are us, the american people. How anyone can dismiss this sort of evidence is beyond me.

Historically, none of these agencies have fulfilled their missions, govt. has been a means for people to assume power and to use that power to make their friends wealthier, and more importantly, to keep electing the same people over and over. Historically, govt. has been used to put people down, especially minorities - witness black wall street or the anti-immigrant sentiment today.

There are a lot of people who think govt. is a force for good, which it can be in moderation. Those people want to reach out and touch other people from far away for doing things they don't like. Be it gay marriage or driving SUVs.

What's utterly moronic is the concept that govt. can actually be the solution to all but a few problems (like relations with other governments and war) and that people want to actually have more of this losing proposition.

Liberty is not a gift of government. Government is a threat to it in every way, which is why the founders worked to hard to limit govt. and had no vision of these agencies you seem enamored of.

I can't vote for republicans or democrats, knowing that one is stealing from my left pocket and the other from my right pocket. The stealing is the same either way, whether it's transparent or not.

and what we do we do about Healthcare..... the current system is a fucking scam. My girlfriend currently works as a Benefits Administrator for a big company in PDX and you wouldn't believe the amount of money they pay monthly for "Health Benefits" and yet half the people cant even get good coverage...

It's fucking ridiculous.... Someones gotta come in and regulate it, b/c you can't count on these capitalistic bastards to help us.
