Trail Blazers: They could package Raef LaFrentz's expiring deal along with Sergio Rodriguez and/or other young talent; they could even expand the deal while taking another expensive contract off the Suns' hands." "Fans of Nash may get worked up by this speculation. Let me emphasize, however, that it is all a lot of pap with no basis in reality. I have no inside information that Phoenix is interested in trading Nash, nor that any of these potential suitors is actually interested in acquiring him (though, wouldn't he look good in a Trail Blazers uniform?)."
I don't see Terry Porter choosing Sergio as Nash's replacement. Besides, Steve Nash just doesn't seem to be the right fit.
He would be 100x better than Conley (lol!) I think he would do well on our team. I'd much rather get him than most any PG. And he has the age that once he is done Bayless can take it over. I would love a Nash/Bayless PG situation. Heck, it might be nice for my man Gregory also.
How about Blake, Raef, Outlaw and we'll stop buying their picks for 10 years? I do think, though, that the window of "trading Nash for equal talent" has slammed shut. Think about the trades recently. They haven't exactly been trades where a lot of youth was given up. Most of them have been pretty tame and blah blah. Diaw and Bell for Richardson wasn't really giving up a lot of youth. We could get Nash, imho, for not as much as people think. This is the trade scenario I came up with. It's horrible, and doesn't help Phoenix at all, but I did it to suggest that it's highly unlikely that Nash will be traded for what Portland probably is willing to give up. Trade checker I don't think Phoenix would want only Sergio for Nash, but I don't think they'd want Blake and Outlaw instead (although if you offered me those sets of trades as my only option, I'd probably cry).
If they trade Nash, its goign to be because they are starting the rebuilding process, imo. We would be a team they would consider, but i'm SURE if they aren't getting any of the big 3, that they would want Rudy and Jerryd and then probably Raef and maybe someone like Joel for Nash and someone else. I really don't think they would settle for less. So while i think Nash would be good on this team and would help lots of people (I think ti would make LMA and ODen better and take some pressure off of Roy and teach Bayless and DEF. make RUdy better as he is a sharpshooter) IDK if i'd be willing to give that much to get him. Would you guys do Jerryd, Rudy, Raef, and Joel for Nash and _____ ? we keep lma, roy and greg. I don't think i'd do it. But it seems something phoenix would do.
No way we could give up Rudy or Joel for Nash. I wouldn't want to give up Bayless either but probably would if that would get the deal done. I would rather trade Sergio and like other people said Terry probably doesn't want Sergio. If we want to make the playoffs this year I don't think we can trade either Rudy or Joel. Both are very important. Joel for this year and Rudy for this year and beyond. Rudy looks like he is going to be a star in this league.
Phoenix may want Rudy and Jerryd, but they're no longer in a position (nor is Nash himself) where they can command that in return.
I agree. I wouldn't do that trade either. But I do think that is what they will ask for. They will be able to get better offers around the league than Raef, Blake and Outlaw.
raef outlaw sergio blake koppenon freeland frye 3 first round picks 2 second round picks(this year) for nash and tucker LOL
Phoenix doesn't have anything Portland wants or needs. The only player I'd want off the Suns is Shaq.
no way the suns trade Nash until the trade deadline. they are going to give the Nash, Barnes, Amare, Richardson, Shaq experiment every chance. I live in Phoenix and this team could trade away every player and this city would still fill every seat if Nash was on the roster. I just dont see them trading Nash.
Well it's hard to interpret the Richardson trade, but that is trying to build to win right now. He was the best player in the deal and still at a good age for a SG. I'm not sure they're throwing in the towel just yet with Shaq only good for a bit left.
