Probably the best game of his career. 42 minutes, 15 points, 15 rebounds, 1 block, an even bigger impact on defense and maybe most important only TWO FOULS! That's exceptional at this point in his career. Not looking like much of a bust, IMHO.
Yeah true, that's okay though, he's going to get more consistent and in better shape as the season goes along.
That one dunk he had, I think Roy drove and kicked to him in regulation. Dude just went up QUICK. Earlier this year he would have had to gather himself for that dunk. Not now, just wait until the end of the year. This loss sucked, but the physical part had to be good for Oden. To be so tired and yet play on will be good for him.
I'm encouraged by what I saw from Oden tonight. He's taking baby steps, but maybe he'll get there eventually.
It won't be long until they can't avoid throwing him the ball when he is open in the lane. I just wish I could see someone throw him a lob and lead him towards the basket, just once. I may have missed that if it did happen.
Nope, you didn't miss it...my wife watching keeps asking me "why don't they pass it to Oden when he's running open towards the hoop? Isn't that the point of the pick and roll?"
We wouldn't have lost if we traded for Troy Murphy. He's always good at tipping in shots at the end of games against Los Angeles. Also, if he got fouled on his tip ins, he would shoot a free throw because we'd know that the clock would stop.
dooooooooont worry he will play tuesday and for some reason play like shit and you guys will all be like man i dont know about oden or, something stupid like trade oden!!
This loss hurt really badly (almost as much as the Orlando loss), but Oden having such a good game takes a bit of the sting away. Go Oden!
