Unfortunately I couldn't catch the game, because I was at a concert, but I see that Tracy decided to come back a lil early. And from what I saw on ESPN's bottom line, it looks like he had a great all around night. Yao put up solid numbers again as well. Does anyone know if Ron Ron made the trip??? I know he was having ankle problems, but I'm not sure if he made this road trip or not...........
The rockets played great. The Warriors were shorthanded so I thought this game would end up like the last meeting, with the Warriors in foul trouble (Biedrins was their only big) and Yao shooting 1000 free throws. This game it was Scola beating up on the whichever 6'5" guy the Ws put at PF and great perimeter D by Battier. I never appreciated him enough, thought he was just a good role player. That guy is a game changer with his D and 3pt accuracy. The Warriors young guys went on a little run at the end of the game to make the final score look closer than it actually was. Great game for Rockets fans, depressing game for me.
I've also got to give Adelman credit. He's got a tough job managing 3 fragile stars and 1 headcase (even though Artest didn't play last night) but I've seen a few rockets games now and I really like the rotations he uses. He seems to keep everyone fresh and a pretty balanced lineup on the floor. Although I'm so sick of Nellie I like any coach who uses a PF and actually coaches.
yeah, G. State just needs a couple of big men. A couple of years back I thought you'll could've went all the way had you had a couple of solid front court players....but yeah Nellie ball is fun to watch, but it has it's down side as well......thanx for the feedback!!!
Saw the game at the restaurant I was at, mainly cause they had 3 TVs with two running the Rockets game and one running my Laker game. Yao played pretty okay, Battier really helps out on the defensive end, didn't see Ron out there, saw Von Wafer play for the first time since he left LA, and T-Mac was in. Good game overall by the Rockets though, but they really only beat up on a short team.
It wasn't just the size advantage, Biedrins played like the all star he should be; Houston only outrebounded the Ws 52-50 and only Yao only shot 4 free throws (I think he shot 19 in the 4th quarter alone last meeting). Houston won this game on the perimeter. T-Mac had a good game and Houston's perimeter D was fantastic. For all thier faults, the Warriors little guys can score. Houston shut them down and the Warriors didn't have a chance.
McGrady was taking it to the rack ALL GAME! He was 10/10 from the freethrows which was really surprising. Everyone else chipped in their part, Brooks, Landry, Scola. Great game
