This is amazing. He just kept his cool and used some solid dodge moves. He is such a Texas bad ass. You couldn't get any sense of fear in him. He would make 10x the international man of mystery that Austin Powers made. Austin Powers couldn't dodge a shoe, Bush can.

Can you imagine if they did this to a Middle Eastern man? All hell would break loose!

That's a great Johnny Cash song.

Civil war is a-comin...comin round the bend..

On a serious note. Top notch security they got there though.

Nice deflection of the second shoe by Iraqi PM Nouri Maliki.

    Quick hands.

Bush totally went into bullet time there and dodged that footwear.

Can you imagine how embarrassing it would have been if

-- the shoe hit him right in the forehead, without him even moving to dodge it, or
-- Bush ducked down behind the podium, immediately lookling cowardly (although, to be honest, I wouldn't blame him for hiding)

Overall pretty funny, along with Bush's quip that all he can report is that they were size 10.

Maybe my two favorite moments of the Bush administration were athletic feats.

This, and his perfect strike off the mound in Yankee Stadium right after 9/11.

People can question virtually every aspect of his presidency, but no one can question his coordination.

Obama would have retaliated by throwing his own shoe.

Can't really blame security for that one. They probably weren't suspecting homie was going to chuck a Hush Puppy at the Prez.

The Iraqi Prime Minister doesn't even react to the first shoe thrown.

    Meanwhile, Bush just dodged.

Like he did with military service.

This is a perfect illustration of our victory in Iraq. If that guy had thrown a shoe at Saddam Hussein, he would have been excecuted 5 minutes later. Long live democracy in Iraq!
